I gotcha. As a fan I'd prefer to see a higher ratio of original material. Don't get me wrong, I thought Sanctitude and Last Fair Deal Gone Night were wonderful, but I've heard other people comment as well on how little new material the band have put out in the past ten years compared to the plethora of stuff that they've rehashed. They are certainly free to run their band however they prefer, and they indeed seem to be quite successful.

Katatonia have had a 30 year long career. I don't blame them for taking the time to look back more than looking forward at this point in their career. I'm just mad they never did a Brave Murder Day anniversary tour.

That's true, they've put out quite a bit of material in 30 years. I know Jonas' harsh vocals were shot at one point, but they sounded pretty good on Last Fair Day Gone Night. Not sure why they didn't do an anniversary tour, but 10 years would would have been around the time Great Cold Distance was released and 20 years would have been around Fall of Hearts. 25 years would be now.

I kind of understand what you mean. So many compilations and whatnots gives out the impression that the band is more interested in re-releasing stuff and easy cash grabs.
But honestly all those have something valuable for fans. They're not just lazy releases. Maybe Introducing is kind of pointless but that one was the label's idea and of a series of Introducing albums from bands of the label.
I'd prefer too more original stuff and both TFOH and CB were really great albums, but it's understandable that after 30 years they need more time between new albums. Quality music is hard to come by. And while i wait for new stuff, I don't mind these re-recordings, b-sides and live albums as long as they're valuable for me as a fan.
