Theocracy’s Theocracy celebrates its 20th anniversary this year, and this significant occasion in the prog/power heavyweights’ history is commemorated with the band’s first album in seven years, Mosaic. Equally capable of earning backhanded compliments for being ‘good for a power metal band’ and ‘good for a Christian metal band’, Theocracy have built a reputation of quality over quantity, and Mosaic comfortably maintains that record.

I can't help but feel that Theocracy is beginning it's curve towards decline, its a common factor that occurs amongst most if not all metal bands following a few successful releases. Let's see what we get as I could be wrong

I think this album has some of their best material but as a whole I could see it as a step down.

Typically the kind of bands I have a negative feeling from the start. The name, cover art and videoclips tell me I'm not in the target audience. First second of first song is a phony voice with mid-ish guitars, so I'm sure it's gonna blow up in a full spectrum, and that's not the kind of processed effects I like. The lyrics are cringe. So no, I would give some minutes to see how the music goes, but I know I won't appreciate it so why bother. Yet, I have to rate it, just for myself, just to keep a mark.

Nonetheless the chorus is catchy, the production is clean, everyone sounds solid. Three songs in there's some nice arrangements. I'm sure it's a good power album, I just don't care.

This is one of the bands that keeps their quality standars in a very high line. Maybe it has to be with releasing new stuff after leaving relatively long amounts of time (approx. 5-7 years between releases).

Not feeling the album. Even the magnum opus red sea failed to make a mark.
