recently, ive been listeneing to a heap of Amon Amarth, stuff from all over their career, and i was wondering if everyone would agree with what i came up with: Amon Amarth get better as they go along... (and thats not to say their early albums are bad ) I'm really interesting to hear your thoughts on that, and which is your favourite album?

I dunno i like them all, all are good so this time I left poll emty, but best song are 'Cry of the Black Birds''

It was a hard choice between VTW and WOOOS, but I chose VTW.
I think both albums are equally great, but VTW is the album that got me into Amon Amarth... so it's more personal history
I do think Amon Amarth is on a great level, but I have the feeling they can do even better.

I'm torn between With Oden on Our Side and The Avenger, so I'll have to vote later. The Avenger was my favorite album by far until the new one came out, plus I haven't listened to it in a while, so I'm not sure. The first couple songs on The Avenger are butt fuckingly awesome, but Asator and Cry of the Black Birds from the new one are just as good, if not better, but it also had some slow songs that didn't interest me much. I'm such an indecisive bastard.

With Oden On Our Side for me, easily. It's the only album of theirs I can listen to all the way through without becoming bored.

Once sent from golden hall was my first Amon Amarth album and so for me it's my fav album. But i think all albums are very good.

Well, that was difficult to choose. All the albums are really great...because Amon Amarth is one of those band, whose every new album was/is the upgrade from the former...And if the first one was very good album and every further one is a little more better than previous it's WITH ODEN ON OUR SIDE the best one for me. That is why I also admire this band very much...

Once Sent From the Golden Hall! The only GREAT Amon Amarth album! The rest was just boring copies IMO. But the first album is so great that I still have the band on my favourite bands list.

Not only is With Oden On Our Side Amon Amarth's best album, its one of my favorite albums of all time

Versus the world, has for me, the most memorable and enjoyable songs.

Versus the world is their best album so far in my opinion, it has much melody while still heavy and agressive, it has good diversity among the songs and it also contains some of my best songs to listen to when angry. With oden on our side and The avenger are other album that stand out and while I really can't call it their best I also have a certain affection for Fate of norns since it was the album that got me into the band when it was released.

I like their oldest stuff ! Specially the Avenger !

Can't decide between Fate Of Norns and Avenger, voted Fate of Norns though. Avenger is awesome, also, latest album kicks ass.

To me... ''Once sent from the golden hall'' is the best.. i dont have a specific reason.. its just my favorite because its the first amon amarth albun i ever heard. songs like Friends of the suncross and The Dragons' Flight Across the Waves are masterpieces to me. Not to mention the super-cool battle sounds on ''Amon Amarth'' track.

Well, I was finally able to re-listen to The Avenger and I can confidently say that it's my favorite Amon Amarth album, with the newest one being a close second. Bleed for Ancient Gods and God, His Son, and Holy Whore are a mighty kick in the nuts, and all the other tracks are consistent, unlike any other album by them.

The only Amon Amarth album I haven't heard is The Crusher, and judging by the votes it's not anything I need to hear.

With Oden On Our Side was the first Amon Amarth album I got a chance to listen to, and I loved it. It was my choice. "Runes to my Memory" is probably one of the most badass songs ever recorded!!!:bow:

Runes To my memory and Cry of the black birds and some others have made the last album diffrent from other works... however Vs. The World was a great album i've voted for With Odin on our Side

I still say hear it for yourself. The only way to be sure.

for me its Once Sent form the Golden Hall, its heavy and seems to have alot more passion and energy behind it.

Although all there albums are great but I had to go with Avenger. Especially for Bleed For Ancient Gods and The Last With Pagan Blood.

With Odin On Our Side is one of my all time favorite albums.

I'd say easily "With Oden On Our Side", and "Fate of Norns" is second. The new album is too fresh to be put in this discussion I'd say.. But surely will be a hard candidate too.

With Oden On Our Side, and Once Sent is a close second. I really dont like Fate of Norns, by the way, like at all...

"With Oden On Our Side" for sure! Their best effort by now, it's even better than Twilight in my opinion.
