Something For Nothing is sooo good; One of their best closing tracks.

This album is awesome! The title track is epic, and the other songs are great too (Twilight Zone is especially a highlight)!

I think it's a very enjoyable song, personally.

Let down a bit by some mediocre stuff on the 2nd side...

My first Rush album!

Wonderful piece of music..!!!

I've lost count how many times I've listened to the title track, can't believe it's 20+ minutes long, time flies by listening to it, it has such incredible musicianship and energy, a perfect and enjoyable song from start to finish. I often forget about the rest of the album tbh, which isn't that bad at all. "Passage to Bangkok" is a bit cheesy but despite that it's still a quality song too.

"2112" and "Something for Nothing" are amazing. The other songs aren't bad, but I think they'd be better if they were done like Rush's later material, when they were less imbalanced with the shorter songs.

It has always been for the title track being so dominant on this album, as well qualitywise as by its mere length, that I found the album a tad imbalanced, which is why it ranks behind Moving Pictures and Hemispheres in my list of favourite Rush albums.
Then again, the title track alone probably makes the album a classic.

The title song is one of my personal favourite songs of all time, I thought the rest of the album was quite enjoyable, but like you said I often skip Tears too.

2112 has to be among the best prog epics. Even after hearing it countless of times it still blows my mind and It's even better in live setting. The b side is not that far off in terms of quality. A Passage To Bangkok is not among my favourites but I love the main riff. The Twilight Zone is quite straight forward track with strong verses and chorus. Tears is the mellow tune here and reading that people skipping it here makes me confused, I think it's the highlight on the b side, very moving and atmospheric. Great ending also with the heavy Something for Nothing. All the albums prior to this one feels like a stepping stone into this monster record. Very close to a 10.

I used to love going to the bar and paying $1 to play "2112" on the Jukebox during prime party time. So jokes.

It's interesting how the title track really takes the centre stage on this album, it makes the other tracks feel like a bit of an afterthought even though some of them are pretty good. Still a great album though, a real journey.

9.0/10 for me - The title track is the standout song. 'Lessons', 'Tears' and 'Something For Nothing' are all also great.
