I wasn't sure about posting this.. But I'm really willing to see other people's opinions in this situation than just my schoolmates.

Here's something to discuss:
- What kind of action should different big nations and unions (UN, USA, EU, etc.) actually take in the different situations that are happening over there?
- On who's side are you? Israel's or Palestine's? Why?
- What should be done on Iran? How could we be sure of the true intentions of Iran's nuclear plans?
- What do you think about Iraq's current situation? Was Saddams death penalty justified?
- How non-religious would you consider the different conflicts?
- Would you consider peace in the Middle-East as a realistic dream?

Please, discuss. Oh, and remember, no spamming, no stupidity what so ever. State your opinions calmly and try to be an adult.

I already have said this but I'm going to say it again. Hats off to the brave and peaceful protestants in Syria for not letting their government killing rampage deter them. At first, I was really saddened by the news and I was kind of worried about them but now I'm really convinced they have what it takes to cleverly crash the regime. You're a great country and we're all with you.

Yemen is no exception, it seems to me that their president would do anything to keep the seat but I'm pretty sure sooner or later they will get their freedom. Good luck!

Well, if you ask me, almost all the Arab countries are corrupted and they all need to be purified. They are being run by illiterates and incompetents who have been making outrageous decisions that don't in any way represent the will of the people. Just look at the facts, the Tunisian people didn't resort to violence whereas the government did. The Egyptian people didn't resort to violence whereas the government did. The Syrian people haven't resorted to violence even though their government has. The Yemeni people haven't resorted to violence either. They are all enlightened, well-educated and so they deserve to be led by someone with sharp visions and great knowledge, not by someone who refuses to let go of his chair even when his own people ask him to.

As for the two countries you mentioned, I totally agree with you but it would be much harder. People there have nothing to complain about; their leaders knew that by giving them everything they would keep their mouths shut and never rebel. Unfortunately, that's exactly what happened; and I don't think they are willing to change that. I really miss those days... the days when pride was everything and money was valueless.

The Middle East situation, ie Isreal and the Palastinians is the easiest to describe, and the hardest to solve. One country does not recognize the other exists, the other wants just to exist. One is a democratic state , the other a theocratic totalitairian state. There are no examples in history where a democratic society versus an undemocratic society where the undemocratic one isnt the hostile. It doesnt exist. A simple recognition of existance ....... would go a long way to solve the issue.

I have a lot of insight with current world issues in Iraq and Afghanistan.

I have a very close friend who is a US Army Ranger. He has spent around 6 years either fighting the insurgency, protecting the Iraqi/Afghani civilians, or training new troops in modern combat.

I can't really discuss any of it in too much detail, especially not on a public internet forum...

I will say that there are A LOT of good people over there, and that the American's misconceptions of Muslims is just wrong and frustrating. And in the same stroke, there is A LOT of work to be done over there and a lot of responsibility to be taken up...

Muslim brotherhood man can be a new press there
when I told , its not good to get rid of Mubbarak, all say yes muslim brotrherhood wont rule, now thay are popular
When CCN reporter ask do you see Egypt like islamic democracy or iran way tyrany , he 5 min as talking bullshit and didnt get any ansvers to non quastens, so .... not always changes is good
Mubbarak shood stay and his biggets mistace was not elmininate muslim brotherhood , free vison of porm, beer and metal now fades away more how it was beck than and IMO Egypt will loss a lot of money , how many tourist go to Iran, and how would go if there was no gayatolla and abaramedavan regime

Mubbarak was corrput and liked the title. The people wanted to get rid of him. The political western left (like Zizek) hoped for a secular democratic goverment.
In Tunisia Atheists are already being prosecuted...Instead of the Arab spring it should have been named Islamic winter.
No good news for secularists so far.

Meaning no beer, tities or metal

Good questions.
The first one: Religion. It's powerful and it makes people do crazy things.

The second question: Normal people were killed because of the way that they fought. They wore the exact same clothes as the civilians, took hiding within the civilians. We still have to eliminate the threat. Personally I don't think we should be out there at all anyways, fuck democracy.

Two wars were conducted when I was in high school. At that times I remember most people have no anti-attidue for Aghanistan war, as for Iraq war, they said because of oil. At that time, I was like a kid thought the same. But now when older I discover more stuff:
- Saddam is era of dictatorship... I saw people happy when they cut down of Saddam statue.
- Saddam rule made a massacre of Kurds... I dont know if it is true, if it is real I support the war, would eloborate more your opposite, though still depends on the fact of the Kurd massacre. People generally always says war kills people but that is the surface...
_ Iraq having oil.. well I thought the same, but if no oil the whole American economy will have problem that leads to world economic damage...
_Iraq provide or support some Terrorists,...

Actually I hated Bush at that time, but now I seems idolize him. He was determined on Aghanistan war against terrorism, as for Iraq war it is more delicate subject but if it is true that Iraq was dictatorship and having crime on Kurds,... though importantly where source I get that some terroists of Al Queda were in Iraq after the war blah blah

Anways I admire Bush how he must stand against the world for his firm stance, but anybody notable in history always had a mess like that...

beside religion I think politicians have other strong intentions interfering that war but they hide it behind religions, I can imagine exactly what meant about the normal ppl, and can I ask something more personal if you don't mind it actually you can even ignore it, how do you feel about holding a gun and aiming some other ppl not just normal ones I mean every kind of humanity how does it feel To kill someone that you don't even know?

I think the biggest tragedy of current middle east (and north africa) countries is, that hiding behind the word "democracy", there are religious fanatics lusting for power and terror...those "evil" leaders like Mubarak, Qaddafi or Assad were able to hold them back - by their own kind terror, however...so now what is better?

i just wish to "ordinary people" in Iraq, Afghanistan, Tunisia, Libya, Egypt, Syria (sooner or later) and other countries, that i am just a false prophet and they will have their real democracy soon...or at least something where they wont have to be afraid of being tortured or killed for disobeying religious rules...

I have absolutely no problem with killing someone that I don't know. That is if they threaten my life and I see them do it. I'm a man of facts. I don't agree with what the US is doing over seas but I don't have a problem defending myself to do my job.

Man, that is just crazy. I've heard that most soldiers are against the war. Do you think it actually made a difference to the civilians ?
Any PSD for you though? Or is your life back to normal ? Sorry, I've not really spoken to a war veteran before, so it's interesting to get their perspective of it.
