Just Damn! Great heavy metal (I have no idea why their doom, unless thats referencing to their Sabbath-esque sound). The neo-classical elements ain't too bad neither.

Pagan Altar is awesome - one of the most underrated bands around...

I'm not used to listen to NWOBHM and I never will be. But I worship this album.

Best release of 2006 by far,any fan of trad. doom that hasn't listened it yet should do it now!

Most of this album is simply beautiful music. Kinda metal kinda not metal. I guess I could say it's 9 or 10 for me, a classic album, but maybe a bit too long though.

One of the finest metal albums I have ever heard in my life. And I'm not even sure if it's really "metal", but something of a mix between early 80's hard rock and folk rock. The whole album is full of rich melodies and world-class songwriting, and even though it's nothing extreme or in your face, it feels like superb music with lots of heart and soul in it. Some of these songs are somewhere around 10 minutes long, but they never feel pretentious or boring. Pagan Altar was truly one of the best old school bands out there, luckily they managed to release this stuff despite all the hardships they had to go through over the years.

Their masterpiece IMO. The songs here are for the majority extremely well crafted and some of the highlights like The Erl King and The Rising of the Dark Lord are pure magic.
