Behold The Arctopus insisted that their 2016 album Cognitive Emancipation was indeed an album although that one also consists of only four songs and clocks in at just above 19 minutes. So I guess if a band says it's an album, then it is, no matter the length, just as there are EPs clocking in at 40-50 minutes because the band calls it an EP.

Yeah, at this point EP vs full-length seem to have pretty nominal status as descriptors, with the amount of self-proclaimed EPs that are longer than self-proclaimed albums (tbf it's not even all that new - one of the most famous EPs ever, Jar Of Flies, is longer than one of the most famous metal albums ever, Reign in Blood)

To me its lenght what decide if it's an EP, album or single.
