Not sure which is more disgusting, the cover or the music.

Album cover of the year, even giving the Kaleikr Metastazis-esque The Feral Wisdom II a competition before Joe comes to destroy and recreates me with supreme album art.

Once again, pretty bog standard, ok death metal that I still can't figure out how it got itself on Profound Lore.

While the songs themselves are not that special, I think the production is half the reason I like this so much. It's really fucking abrassive and filthy in a way I have not heard very often. Like Impentuous Ritual going goregrind or something. Also the vocal effects are nasty to help the album stand-out. I saw these guys live and that also helped me elevate my opinion of these guys. Sick show and the vocals are even more monstruous live.

Damn, I thought I had seen it all with Dawn of the Black Hearts, but this album cover might have actually topped it.

I tried spending a bit more time with it, but I can't help escape the feeling it ends up sounding a lot like many of the bands that pop up on Bandcamp, with gory artwork and lo-fi production. I get the gritty appeal, but still feels like they're missing something (probably bass lel). That being said I could see this being one of the live bands that work, where they might have a more dense and impactful feel to them.

Try writing the label and ask? My guess is that the band sent a demo or the label heard the demo and thought that it sounded fucking fantastic.

I really don't care enough to do that Besides, Pissgrave we're probably one of the gateway bands to when PL started dipping in quality and have done ever since. They used to be the best label on the block, now great releases are fairly sporadic.

Are you really sure about that, could it be your taste that has been dipping in quality?

How can a person's taste dip in quality That would imply that it's not a 100% personal thing to each individual.

I have friends that still listen to the same stuff that they used to 20 years ago and they would probably say the same thing. Maybe profound lore isnt for you anymore, we all grow older, but they can still be a great label. But you are sure that it is the label thats in decline?

Dunno mate, can't say I care what people were listening to 20 years ago, or what opinions people have of my opinions. Then again I don't second guess my own taste like some people

Only a self-absorbed weirdo like Lucifer of Shitness could develop arguments in order to promote bad music like this.

Thanks but I am not the "only" one here that can promote stuff like this here. I always felt that people here exaggerate how good my taste is and the influence I wield here. I just like stuff and then I write that I like it - call it promotion if you want. I do have a long education when it comes to art but my guess is that you develop arguments here that are as good as mine. And I am definitely self-absorded - will there even be humanity when my mind dies? I like the Heideggerian development of Descartes, it has to be said though that I havent read much philosophy lately.

Raw, filthy, sick, disgusting... what more do you need?
Edit- after couple of listens, I can say that the magic wears off pretty quickly. Beneath the disgusting surface, there isn't much substance.

So I'm guessing either this or the demo release is the pic they got from Bestgore.com I heard.
