Hello, guys! I think the title says all. I searched for a while but nobody can really explain this question. I don't listen to these styles too much... I even don't like them too much.

Nothing more to say, I guess. Can you help me (explain with you own words) ?

Thanks!

Sir thats not metalcore, im talking about the metalcore/deathcore shit, and thats obviously what everyone else is talking about as well.

Sir, that IS the original metalcore. I could also add Cro Mags and Merauder.

These are 2 styles that i can't apreciate as a whole. However i did enjoyed Coal Chamber back in the day and few years back I've listened to Scream Aim Fire by Bullet For My Valentine.

Haha. I agree, though. I don't think there's good metalcore. Also, I find that it has almost nothing to do with hardcore. The hardcore label is applied in decidedly wrong ways, imo, mostly by metalheads that don't know how to listen to punk. There is a NY style of hardcore pioneered by Agnostic Front which, albeit from a considerable distance, inspired most of the metalcore we hear these days. But I doubt AF would listen to any of those bands. A lot of that stuff involves slam riffing - the lowest form of metal riffing - and whigger posturing. Also, it's pointlessly misanthropic, for the most part. I don't think extreme music has much to gain by emulating simple teenage angst.

You aren't listening to the right metalcore then.
90s metalcore was a noticeable blend of hardcore and metal.

The difference I care most about is how no Nu metal band I've seen has chicks as ridiculously hot as some Metalcore bands do.

I find this lackluster to fap to.

Sorry, I'll stick to the usual material I've got.

Not this song in particular, but In This Moment is (generally) a metalcore band.
The modern, commercial one though, not old-school.

It's possible I wasn't fair to metalcore. I've always said that anything can be done well. I don't mind Converge.

I don't mind Converge.

You should also give Zao and Yakuza a fair chance. Between them and Converge, those are the three primary metalcore bands I personally enjoy.

Others will probably recommend SikTh, Protest the Hero, or Between the Buried and Me, though.

Old Zao is actually really good.

Through the Eyes of the Dead are another of my guilty pleasures...although I guess most classify them as "Deathcore."

SImple. Metalcore bands can't write songs. Nu-metal bands can't write songs OR play instruments. Fans of both are idiots. Case in point:

Meh. People who stereotype entire fanbases are generally as easy to stereotype as those they continue to belittle.

Besides, his favorite band is apparently Bal-Sagoth. Bal-Sagoth fans are idiots apparently.

Anyone listen to Pro Pain?

And for those saying nu metal is too commercialized, here's to things: 1. There are plenty of underground nu metal bands. 2. Glam metal was also heaviliy commercialized in the 80s, and bands used tons of makeup and long hair, yet that's praised by metalheads. What makes nu metal so different?
