@Kariasakis7, lol I thought u 've checked by listenning to them. Not only their lyrics are great, their music too, they even use acoustic guitar. I remember MA ( metal-archives) first said they were gothic, then folk, then now they say this band is symphonic/ melodic black. I have no idea about that. Though try Crown Of Autumn if you have chance and enjoy it.

Well in Italy there was a lot of power metal revolution in mid 90ties check my post in ''Recomend Me Good Power Metal'' or something there was about 20

Well i have actually two , in first posistion. They are Lacuna Coil and Rhapsody ( better know as Rhapsody of fire now )
I know that they have two complete different style but each of them make something that no other bands have .

I like most of power, symphonic italian music. The list is endless but these two are my best

@NotreNie - Well you're young you hawe many years to discovere new bands and belive me maybe some day you will discovere Italian bands, I know thay hawe werry werry good gothic, doom, black scene and one day maybe xmass hollyday I made list I just need find my papers and post all bands what I had hear of italy

LC sounds Europeian If you wanna Europeian sound hmmm try bands from Scandinavia, germany/France and post Comunistic Countries you will feel Europeian sound, pure, emotional whit soul belive me, read some my posts where are sugest me xxxxx style band, you will find something interesting

Note, I said that they're OLDER Albums we're European sounding.

Mine is Rhapsody of Fire. Epic style and lyrics, good musicians and well produced albums.

Graveworm 'cuz that is the only italian band I listen to, I think

Are u shure dude ? did u heard Rhapsody of Fire, Labyrinth, Elvenking or Nanowar ?? i was confuse if u are into Power or not but anyway if u never heard them do it if u want they are awesome

Graveworm and Nanowar are both awesome. Graveworm is defined by Last.fm as high technician of music, Nanowar's lyric is very funny, humorous but when I listened to them I seemed not to get into it, but reading their lyric is really relaxed. More an Italian band I have listened is Tanist, also a good band

Thy Majestie is the greatest Italian metal band for me. Thy Majestie plays energetic, catchy power metal; they take a classic sound but put their own unique touch on it. I can only describe their sound as extremely full and rich.

Runners up are Elvenking. Their first 2 albums are so enjoyable for me, perfect folk/power hybrid. The new album is dull to me ears, but you can tell the band still has talent.

Once in Italian rock radio thay play soem songs and there wa sinterwiew whit mambers, i remeber 2 songs ''The Sight of Telham Hill'' and ''Through the Bridge of Spears' it was something about album ''Hastings 1066'' but I didnt understand nothing

and I remeber Doomsword vocalist Gabriele Grilli was in this band too

easy poll Rhapsdoy Of Fire of course they're so epic and have so many catchy riffs and chorus plus the kick ass guitar and keyboard solo's and excellent orchestration makes this band not only the best band of italy but one of the best bands ever

Hehe, i guess we all had the same at least once. For instance, i am one of the greatest Rammstein's fan , but i cant listen to em atm. Just like that. Its normal. We go through ...hmmm.. if i say this word, its gonna sound weird, but i dont care, we go through different "periods". .

I like Raintime and Ground Zero, they are not very popular but they will be in couple of years.
If you have extra time, find some of their staff and you want be dissapointed

Rhapsody!!!

Maybe not the best but Carpe Tenebrum is an also good band from Italy. I've got just 2 albums of them and they're pretty good I think , vocals are very harsh and keyboards makes the atmosphere like hell!!!Also you hear good drummer with non-stopping twin pedal shows

hmm probally Cadaveric Crematorium, or Corpsefucking Art. Im gonna go with Corpsefucking Art, cause they have alot better material, and take after Mortician, and have the same sound and same whole theme Mortician do, but more talents better riffs and no more of those 5 minute intros

For me it's Opera IX, why because they are really special and unique and the sound they created is truly stunning and majestic plus The Call of The Wood is a total classic album also Shame Cadaveria left though she could scream brutally for someone so small though the other 2 singers are still good, just not as atmospheric or engaging as Cadaveria was/is.

Yes, Opera IX is probably best Italian band, they make fantastic mix of few musi genres and they are adding such atmospheres to their songs, I like all of their albums and almost all songs, Bella Lusoi's Death was probably first song by Opera IX I heard, I was searching the net to find something about this lunatic actor and find this song, until then I really like this band.

Hmm had to think about this one.. Aborym, Oraculum and Aisling of course.. Opera IX is ok as well though but to the amount I like Aborym, Oraculum and Aisling..

I agree that its very under-rated but then again the scene is not as active as some of the other European countries around. There are still very good bands but depends on the genre also I think..
