Imo it's better than their debut. Musically it's very impressive, there is something about the mix that is a little odd and I can't really pinpoint what it is, doesn't affect the music too much though. A great album none the less.

I expected a bit more after first "Battle Of Arcane Might" was released...still it is good one

And I also think the mixing is strange - like it is muted or what...

It improved the first one. Maybe will be some complains about the production, but I have no problem with that. I enjoy this album so much

Sounds very much like Pathfinder.

Good comparison. I thought it sounds like a mix between Freedom Call and Rhapsody.

Well, I first noticed it in Battle of Arcane Might, there's a weird ringing background sound towards the end (4:35) that sounds like a Sonic game when he takes damage and loses a load of rings... Then in some of the songs it's like the drums have too much echo and guitars are low volume.

That said, the album is one of my favourites from this year..

Yeah I hear that too, I would also throw early era Dark Moor into that mix too.

I also hear melodies that remind me theme from "Battling the green death" from "How to tame a dragon" movie (especially in "Rise of a hero")...might be both a coincidence or an inspiration

I don't like the prodution at all. Sounds so dull and flat. I can't hear guitars at all sometimes. Only keys, vocals and drums..

I know, it's part of metalstorm. But still, made me chuckle

I just love Twilight Force. They know exactly how I want my stereotypical cheezy power metal. Although I can agree about the production. There's so much happening all the time and sometimes certain melodies, vocals or instruments dissappear.

They should probably add guitars to their band. This sounds like Disney music with double bass.

So far really digging it. Fantasy Metal pushed to the absolute limit and god damn is it fun! Definitely gives GloryHammer a run for their money.

Now if we could only get another Dragonland album...

I forgot how good this album was after having not listened to it in a while...

The cheese took me by surprise and I couldn't get used to it. I love good Power Metal but this cheese is too much and just not my thing. Songs like "There And Back Again" remind me of Pathfinder which isn't bad but the album overall to me was just average.

Amazing songs, especially "Battle of Arcane Might" and "Flight of the Sapphire Dragon". The guitar work is phenomenal, though the production is a bit weak. Symphonic parts are great, and it's awesome to hear Joakim Broden's voice here too. Great album, only a few boring and forgettable tracks bringing the rating down.

This needs to be a little heavier. It's too saccharine in its current state. Still a fun listen, but it needs a little more beef.

Personally, I think this is their best album. It's peak TF. They take the whimsical element of power metal and turn it up all the way. It's corny yeah, but that's the point. It damn near sounds like Disney music turned into metal, and I mean that in the best way possible. The mixing also really sells this one for me, it's so wide and colorful. The mixing on their most recent album leaves alot to be desired imo. It's a bit TO tight, TO clean, there isnt enough room for each instrument to breath in the mix, everything sounds exactly even with each other and compacted. The mixing in Heroes of Mighty Magic is perfect. It's wide, bombastic, atmospheric, every sound has plenty of room to be heard. I'm always a sucker for albums with very wide and spacey mixing, another example being Power Windows by Rush, and Dreamspace by Stratovarius.

The melodies on this album are all amazing, wile not every song is memorable, and I feel the 2 albums after this are more consistent and better on a technical level, HOMM does what it's trying to do best, wile still having some of that "new band still developing their sound" rawness.
