So unique that it's missing a genre tag (Edit: until now)

While they definitely improved in their songwriting on Sombre Romantic, one sees already the origins of the style here that reappears on songs like "Walk without Limbs" and "Sleep with the Emperor". I wish more bands would try this bizarre style

It’s a pretty cool little release, indeed. Opera De Trance is the track that sounds the closest to their great debut But with a stronger industrial edge. Second track is somewhat unremarkable until the second half with pretty good guitar.
As for Whispers Of Dead Sisters, while some ideas are not too mature it remains an unsettling song to listen to. The vocal performance on that song is pretty crazy. He didnt have the experience at the time But he definitely had the heart in it.

Checked out the Requiem series yet?

Checked out the Requiem series yet?

Not all of it. Started with Pianissimo which was interesting. But when I went to listen to the others, I kind of lost interest for a while. I guess it reminded me of the standard gothic style of Paradise Lost and other bands like that. I really liked the unique flair of their debut. I'll try to get into Mezzo Forte and Fortissimo again sometime soon

Oh I see. Shame. Im a big fan of them. I understand that They seem less unique but the vocal performance and use of an orchestra more than makes up for it imo. Mezzo has probably the best vocals in their discography and Fortissimo in particular is heavy af.

I remember liking Elegant... and Dying, although it's been a while. I'll try to get into their later albums again and let you know what I think.
