For My Pain... is my choice. Love them although I would consider them more of a gothic band but oh well this is arguable.

Sentenced & For My Pain, but would vote for For My Pain becuase they are less fame & I think they shuold be more highlighted, gonna support them

You have helped me out so much, by reading this thread I can say that this metal seems interesting to me, BTW Why is called suomi metal?, the Gothemburg/Melodeath metal is not known as "svenska metal", why Suomi does so?

I dont really know what you meant but I just guess the reason is Soumi means Finland and all bands play Soumi metal coming from Finland, like Gothenburg Melodeath, all bands play this style most and formely from Gothernburg city.

Nop there was some news or something in MS about it Suomi metal are gothic rock band sliek The 69 eyes, Poisenblack, Lulacry, HIM Chareon(if we dont count firts album) To/Die/For and such type a bands ... but Sentenced dont counts

Yeah , Suomi metal means finnish gothic metal or rock, something like that.. Truefor the bands you listed. I dont have opinion about Sentenced, Suomi or not, but still enjoy their music. "Soumi" exactly refers to Finland, you can search in wikipedia, not sure for Suomi Metal, but I see only Metalstorm defines finnish gothic bands as Suomi metal, and I concur thats very appropriate.

Hellenic metal, can you list some bands for instance?

There's no point fo comparison, son.

Apocalyptica is Heavy Metal, COB is Extreme Power, while all of this bands are suomi... emaning: gothic from Finland.

I bought Sentenced's "The Cold White Light" after seeing the rave reviews on this site and was disappointed. I'm not a big fan of Suomi metal in general, but once I listened to Charon's "Songs For The Sinners" and "The Dying Daylights" I found myself unable to stop listening.

I'd have to say, Sentenced.... 'cause it brings back good memories...
Haven't listened to them for like a few years now. :|

And I must say. this page was helpful to me.... I thought Suomi meant Finnish bands from, well Finland.. Hahah Im dumb.
I didnt know Suomi meant, gothic rock or metal Oh well all is clear from my wee brain.

Of course. This poll is about Suomi... There are no fgrowls in new sentenced 'cause they played Suomi. If it were the old Sentenced it wouoldn't be in this poll, since it was Death Metal...

I like HIM, it was the first suomi, well love metal i heard and its good to listen to if you are depressed, though sometimes i do get a bit pissed off with the constant references to love, tomb, death, or funeral

I voted HIM... Think they are still writing great music. Very rocky.

I don't think there is such a thing as suomi metal. Last time I checked that was one of Finland's native tounges. (Do we have any MetalStorm Fins who can confirm or deny this?)

Can't we just call it "Finnish Gothic Rock/Metal" and dispense with making up even more sub-genres. Really, enough is enough.
