There was a time when I first listened to Finntroll and then Moonsorrow and a bit of Ensiferum as well, and I found this kind of music cool. Korpiklaani were in my plans, but oddly I left this scene and I never got to listen to them. So the moment arrived and the promo of their latest album is in my hands. A moment of silence please, a bottle of wine in one hand, in the other a great axe, many companions in the same mood and the celebration is about to begin, "Tervaskanto"'s the name of it and let's lose ourselves there where bitterness has no place!

Bad English

Sauna Party and drinking party music. Seems band don't take music seriously anymore in this one.

It sucks that Korpiklaani got so stale in less than 4 albums.

I just gave Tervaskanto my first full listen although I did hear a few of these songs about 15 years ago. The sound production is great and there is a lot of energy with even tighter playing than their previous albums. There's really nothing wrong with this but it's already too formulaic and not memorable at all to me. I remember their next album being even less interesting than this. Maybe I'm overthinking what was just meant to be mindless fun party music but after recently discovering how much I love the 2 Shaman albums then revisiting Korpiklaani's first 3 albums I still wish they didn't so quickly and comfortably settle into doing the same thing forever.
