I wanted to introduce you to an Estonian band called Talbot. The style can be decribed as psychedelic stoner doom or noise doom. Anyone heard of them? Propably one of the most promising bands in the Estonian underground scene these days.

Here is a description by the band themselves:
The mythical and sacred fire-being phoenix lives a thousand years and
perishes in flames after building a nest. Few are those who know that
the bird leaves behind two eggs ? a white one and a black one. From
the white a new phoenix hatches, but what might emerge from the black,
nobody knows.

Talbot, the duo of Estonian bio-bots from Tallinn is like the black
egg of the phoenix ? a mystical, menacing enigma that, once cracked,
will change the world. Edgy and immediate, the garage-doom-prong of
Talbot pierces the listener's ear and brain like an icicle, puncturing
membranes and forever mutilating objective reality. Talbot's music is
like a hidden image that, once seen, cannot be unseen.

Biography:
Talbot, the doom-duo from Tallinn, Estonia, were first formed back in
the 2003, but real activity started in August 2008.

After a month of rehearsals duo did their first show which was quite
soon followed by debut EP "Tundra" (October '08). Self released, DIY
CD-R.
In spring 2009 "Tundra" was re-released as a limited edition CD-R (100
copies) with two additional tracks via ConSouling Sounds.

After supporting Nadja (CAN) and doing some other shows in and out
Estonia, duo went to their first European tour in May '09 - Tour De
Solara 2009. Followed by "Sarkasms Open-Air 2009" in Latvia and
Estonia's biggest indie-festival "Plink-Plonk" + more gigs in Estonia
& Finland.

Talbot is currently finishing it's debut album "EOS", which will be
released in March 2010. First single "Combat Zen Speech" is now

Psychedelic stoner doom ? hmmm, never heared of such genre.
i checked their page on "my space" , not bad for underground band. the other 2 links cant be found .

Really promising band indeed. To be honest I think it is one of the best metal band in Estonia, even tho they haven't even released a full-length album yet. Great to see that there are more and more metal bands that aren't only doing death or black metal.
