Ibrahimović scored an amazing goal (of four!) against us today.

England were 2-1 up at half time, but then we substituted on four/five real young and inexperienced players. Joe Hart had a terrible game too.

Belgian players coloured the UEFA Super Cup. Hazard was almost the hero for Chelsea with a fantastic action for the Torres goal before scoring himself and Lukaku missed the final Chelsea penalty.

why super cup was played in Praha, next will be in Cardif and after then in Georgia, why not traditionally in Monaco?

You don't seriously think one can simply stop to follow football all of a sudden...we just stopped discussing every little thing here

btw, is anyone here playing the Football Manager game? (14 still isn't out so 13 is the latest atm) i've been playing it every year since 98 and haven't stopped yet, nor do i plan on doing so. It's a shitload of fun and besides, you really do learn a lot about the the game...yeah all aspects of it, you learn how to be "smart" on the transfer market, but especially the tactical part. You learn how to exploit your opponents weaknesses, how to play out your strengths right, how to counter an opponents tactic or strategy how to play against "bigger" clubs than yours and how against "smaller" ones. And yeah, you "get to know" a ton of players. Over the years i've managed to predict the rising of a lot of "superstars", and as always there are also several potentials (wonderkids) right now (actually, anyone who has spent enough time with this game has done the same ). And of course there's a lot more content, which i won't get into now because it would take too long . With this i only mean to say that the game really is more than just a game, so...is anyone else here addicted to "Football Manager"?

Yup. I love that game. But I haven't played much of FM13. Got it kinda late and lost interest in it. I'll check out FM14 once it's out. I spend too much time on that game seriously. There was once (I think FM08) I took over Parma and finished the whole season in one weekend (that includes scouting, player buying etc etc). Mental haha.

Haha yeah i often do that too...takes like 7-8 hours a day to complete a season in just a week, maybe more .I'm having the most fun taking a club from england's lower leagues and bringing them in the premier league xD, i always did that with Leeds while they were down in the 3rd league, but nowadays they are in the championship (second league)

btw the biggest changes in the 13 game are in the training section, if you haven't checked that out, you might wanna risk a look

Well, I used to play Championship Manager (back in 2007, 2008) and I've played a little of Football Manager 2010, I think. I like this kind of game, but lately I don't have a pc to play it, I only play games in my PS3, so I can't play them. =/

But the interesting thing about championship manager is that almost all major transfers in football happened in my game in 2007. It was really strange. The game was prophetic. Hahaha! Pique was in Manchester Utd. and then went to Barcelona; Kaka was in Milan and went to Real Madrid; Robinho went to Milan (I don't remember where he was), etc. Everytime a player was to get transferred, I would give a look in championship manager and so I knew where he would go. It actually worked most times.

What about Mourinho giving Romelu Lukaku away?
He scored 2 goals and gave an assist yesterday against Newcastle

Lukaku (and most of Everton) were gassed after their Int'l caps... made Hull City tighter than it should have been.

As for the World Cup qualifiers... the US potting a pair of stoppage time goals in Panama to win enabled Mexico, losing at Costa Rica to qualify for a playoff spot lead to this epic meltdown by a Mexican announcer on Azteca.

Cannot stand El-Tri, but was happy to see the US continue to push for the W even after winning the hex and making this guy happy, as well as some other appreciative Mexico fans. Certainly not the "Osama" chanting, beer-lobbing subhuman fans we're accustomed to. As a tease, it begins with words I never thought I'd hear spoken from anyone on Azteca, in English, before he begins an epic tirade that also involves the word "pantalones".

"GOLLLLL ESTADOS UNIDOS! WE LOVE YOU! WE LOVE YOU FOREVER AND EVER!! AAHTHGHGHGH!! GOD BLESS AMERICA!"

Epic dramatics in CONCACAF.

Belgium has a really good team, probably gonna do something big during WC. Good thing for them is that most of the new squad is young, so that's a couple of years with a solid base...
Also, Portugal vs Sweden is epic during play-offs, hard to see that either Zlatan or Cristiano won't be in Brazil. Hope Iceland make it through too, that would be so cool !

Concerning CL, the Arsenal/BVB/Napoli fight is brutal ! Hope both the english and italians pass, but I think the team that will go out will probably win the europa league after. Also Clasico this week end, interesting to see the results as both teams aren't as strong as before....

Nottingham Forest 5 - 0 West Ham United

It has been so long since I have seen us play like that, probably not since 1991. Complete demolition and it could have been 8+. Lets hope we can keep this team together and push for promotion. Abdoun and Reid were magnificent. Paterson's hat trick was clinical as well.

You Reds.

I was going to make a new thread dedicated to the English Prime League, but Im not allowed to apparently.
What teams do you support ? What do you think of the season so far ? Thoughts on transfers, games and so on. (if someone could make that kind of thread, that would be awesome. I think this one is to wide of an topic)

I have been a Chelsea supporter since I was a kid, but I didnt start watching football again till few years ago really. I think this season has been great, it´s been very even this year but I think it´s starting to divide first now.
Im loving the downfall of Manchester United as well! Im really looking forward to see the second half of the season, it will be bloody.

Not much fun left in EPL except of tossing of whopping pounds in player's account or daily bitching of one coach to another and sacking and shit. Bleh!

I watch lot of Spanish, German and Scottish football games and get to know lot of young, talented footballers running for their names to get famous. I bet in upcoming WC 14, you gotta see lot of young gas tanks making their names in media and everywhere.

Oh, passing of Eusebio was pretty sad. He accomplished everything except of winning a World Cup for his country.

Everton.

Unfortunately just as the club hit stride a rash of injuries to key players have stalled a promising season. Doesn't get easier heading to your pad this weekend.

As for Manu, yeah, it's amusing, particularly given the shady way in which Moyes left Everton and attempted to pry key players. (although the Fellaini fleecing was pretty awesome) Oviedo's late goal at OT was awesome.

The season itself is interesting, bit of a chase for the top spot, as well as 4th (though less so now with EFC fading) ...

"Arse"nal not kicking up much arse from couple of matches. Only Giroud making moves but as always gunners back-line has always been weak. I think it'll be tight competition for No.1 but still more games to go.

Chelsea ia doing pretty good. They hit the pedal at the last moment and have grabbed a very good position but I think the number of draws they've made eventually will push them down.

Everton is fine. As Craig said, injuries have plagued their playmaking and equally tough for them to be in first 5 position or even qualify for Champions League.

Because most of the time I've seen strikers offside when the ball is played, they run back to the defence line and run forward again.

which makes it offside.

But this instance is really difficult to judge for the linesman without video referral. So I am never too bothered when they disallow or allow such a goal. Remember it is way easier for the tv viewer to judge due to the vantage point and stop motion, also it's impossible for a human on the field to watch two places at the same time.

If they can keep a striker healthy... and that striker can score regularly, they'll be dangerous.

still a lot of points to play for, their worst away matches are behind them, who knows, maybe they can beat out Spurs and Manu for 5th.
