27.06.2007 - 21:28 Written by Vrana on 27.06.2007 at 14:16 That is not completely true. I have listened to Aenima for about ten years now, and can only pull it out every few months, but the simple fact that I have been able to enjoy that album for this long pretty much makes me agree with you.

I saw Tool july 18th, and it was increadible. It was my first time seeing Tool, pretty good setlist and fantastic light show. The concert had such a great feel to it. The drum solo was awesome and it was cool hearing the extended versions of Schism and Lateralus. Only complaints were that it was a little hard to hear maynard in some songs, and he didn't sing some parts like the end of vicarious and other big yelling parts in other songs. Setlist was: Jambi Stinkfist Forty-six & two Schism(ext) Wings for Maries pt. 1 & 2 Lost Keys Rosetta Stoned Flood Lateralus (ext) Vicarious So what are you waiting for?? Go see Tool, NOW!

29.09.2007 - 04:58 Written by [user id=25484] on 22.09.2007 at 01:41 I have to disegree here. I don't really think Tool is that catchy, because their lyrics are completely different from everything, and the music is most of the times quite complex. Maybe LAteralus and 10.000 days, but the first albums... I don't think so.

You should try their earlier stuff. Lateralus is the big thing. Aenima is nice to try when you're not familiar with them. But Lateralus is great too. I personally think 10,000 Days is good, but not as great as Lateralus.

I don't think you could go wrong with any of the first four albums, although I would strongly recommend any of the first three. Aenima is quite possibly my alltime favorite album, and is IMO, the perfect blend between the heavier early Tool and the more progressive Tool of the later albums. Undertow is probably their heaviest and darkest album, and highly recommended. Opiate is also a must have, although it has a different sound than the later albums.

I recommend their live albums first(Opiate or Salival). That's when they still had that raw, angry sound going for them. The most common complaint i always hear about Tool is that their songs are too long. Whilst it may not be a problem for conoisseurs of prog-rock/sludge, others get very irritated with it. Once you're a little enthusiastic about them, Undertow will give you a great introduction to their darker side. And then of course Lateralus...what a masterpiece.

10.10.2007 - 04:09 Written by someone_else on 07.10.2007 at 23:29 Tool is far from both genres, my friend. Actually Tool is far from pretty much everything, except Avantgarde.

I am not really into Tool, but they are touring and coming here to SF, so I decided to buy a ticket and check the band out. Tickets went on Sale last Sunday for $60 at 10:00AM, I went to find tickets 10:03 and it was sold out! and the worst part is they went re-selling them on ebay for prices that reached $500! and people were actually paying this price! I think it's ridiculous!

Tool is one of my favorite bands. I heard a couple of people talking about it on some chat and I decided to listen to this band. The first song i downloaded was 'Jerk Off', and as it started to play on my WMP i thought that this band could be a great find. But when I heard 'Aenima' , 'Schism' , and 'Stinkfist' I was completely mesmerized.

05.12.2007 - 17:20 Written by +{Jonas}+ on 13.11.2007 at 03:30 I paid 40? to see them live in December 2006, and I can tell I won't ever pay any price to see them again. That must have been the most boring show I've ever attended. I mean, ok it's Tool, they have a special sound, but what's the point if there's nothing going on on stage? I don't pay to see a band bored to death and not giving an actual tiny shit about the current concert. Or the audience. Or anything worth it except Keenan's outfit. I mean, come on, I know fans are blind, but there are so many bands that are much better live than Tool. Tool is definitely not worth so much money.
