Brazil was lucky indeed. The ref helped them a lot with the penalty
But...as almost always teams like Brazil, Germany, Italy...win matches like this.
You know you can beat them but at the end they win and you got nothing but some cheers for playing well and the saying: "if the referee did this or didn't do that you would 've won the game. yeah...
Ask The Netherlands at WC in USA or Belgium in 2002 for that matter against Brazil.
Today I hope Mexico, Spain and Chili win their matches.

Italy won because good goal and strong defense ...

BTW this tread and WC be weird since Mardcel is not active anymore as he was... we will miss his comentsspecely about boring football what Italy and Greece plays

To be fair, the whole Spanish team were pretty piss poor, if that's any consolation to him. Pletikosa's reaction, on the other hand, were that of a disabled 60 yo. Totally avoidable, tame goals. The Oscar one even bounced in front of him ffs.

Anyways, what a match. Niceties abound within as an Oranje fanboy.

Maaaaan, I had the feeling someting like this would happen. Decline of Barcelona + the Confederation Cup was already a warning that typical Spain from last 6 years wasn't gonna work anymore but Del Bosque just ignored it all. Same style, same players that now drag themselves through the pitch (the physical difference with The Netherlands was ABYSMAL).
And on top of that they weren't too lucky (loosing most of the rebounds, missing extremely clear occasions, Casillas fucking up big time on 4th goal lol and a doubtful third goal....), plus taking out Xabi Alonso was the end of it (the difference when he's not playing is quite terrifying).
Overall, well done Netherlands and hope Spain move their goddamn ass next time !

Also glad Mexico won, it would have been outrageous otherwise despite the referees efforts (this is getting a bit suspicious...).

Worst opening match for defending champions IMO ever
IMO Spain thought specially after goal they will win but ... well they lost but why Casillias is in the goal Pepe Reina is better goalkeeper and goals what dutchies scored was awesome and we dont see such goals .. they just smashed spanish defense ... maybe tactical error? Spain won 3 tourmanets in row, so maybe its enough, IMO they lost in the heads .. seems Ned can win whole think, 2 Mar der Plate in same continet? Cant happen abd seems Ned is more united not stars as always
Spanish penalty was more pen. as Brazil's ... many angles, cameras, ref cant see, and it was 50 - 50 one camera more yes, another no .. still tricky

So much shoddy refereeing int his WC lel. 2 goals for Mexico disallowed when they shouldn't have been. Sad to see Casillas play this poorly. Australia are the worst technical team in the game. Ye they played well against Chile but they're still garbage. But who knows...maybe they're mediocre butt will beat Spain and somehow end up progressing. Help me god if that happens.

Great game, seems Arg thought its be easy after own goal, but Bosnia re organized and attacked. They could win this game, BIH was great ... why ppl say this team sucks, well Croatia was 3th in France, why Bosnia cant be 3th here? Let me guess after thinking the two worst matches up to today were great K& will also think that Ghana - US was a great match as was Iran - Nigeria okay both matches were worse than England - Italy and Argentina - Bosnia but thinking those last two were great is just laughable.

Iran - Nigeria was a terrible thing to see! Ok, Iran couldn't play better but what Nigeria was doing on the pitch is a mistery to me.

Ger vs Por was bporing game in second period when Ger did their job ... next 2 games were great , marcel seems you havnt seen boring games, I recomend you watch Greek leauge, because seems you forgot what is boring football --.- many club football games in France, Sapin are more boriung as this WC --- even in EPL as well

Well PP again and again it was ... well seems ref loves Germany? There were some sweird decisions and I dont think Por lost because of Pen they wer enot ready, IMO they mistace is thinking Christina Ronaldo will save, yes (s)he is super player, but I think teams as Por, Bra, Arg should try play like whit out those super stars ....IMO it was Por mistace but you know panzer divsion germania and blizkrieg, you need a lot of panzerfaust and great defending tactics to win ... besides 18:00 is way toe arly to me watch games 21:00 and 24:00 is better time

Well this is not super group (S Korea and Russia is not super teams as Ger, Ar, Bra) both teams just simply played its own game, simply what they likes to do and so on .. after 1th goal it as more open,... Algeria was great team, great attacks but Bel goals was awesome, just canon goal... and late winning goal

This is Brazil, what we know, compare whit opening game and this ....Mexico played so good as Brazil let them and real hero is Mexico keeper, he saved 6 super saves? In last minutes Mexico could score.. but i think Brazil can also not go to 1/8 final... seems they still teach they children about 1950 disaster in maracana..seems they have pressure, way to huge pressure to win this one like when we knew WC will be in Brazil all said you need win... players feel depressed, it can be reason and now they need win... Cameroon, well they will play easy so I would bet Brazil cant also be out of knock out stages, well biggest chances they will not win, get another draw...they can win if get away pressure ...

True, Algeria played to come out of the match with one point. Never had the intention to win. Extremely weak team that polayed weak with totally crap attacks if any attacks at all. It is once again clear that K7/BE is watching a different World Cup than the rest of us

Non of teams impressed me, boring game (well not so since it was night game) , seems Capello makes Rus use Italian defending tactics..S Korea did not impressed me.. seems Asian teams are weaker this year ..only what S Korea tryd is test Rus goalie and it worked, he made horrible mistake, but Rus get back and draw, well Rus deserve win more as get draw

Game , well I think Ausie could win this one if there would be luck, they deserve draw, Holland played different seems they thought its be easier, but in end they won

what a symbolism, spanish king resigns, world champions also ... same day .
