Metal Storm Awards 2015 - Now Open
Ladies and djentlemen, it's that time of year again - the Metal Storm Awards 2015 are open for business.
The voters are about to swarm like gundarks, so be prepared to withstand the onslaught of chatter and indiscriminate, early bird vote-lobbing that will soon unfold.
For the next however many days are in February this year (lousy indecisive month), the Awards are all yours to paw through and explore. We've got an impressive array of nominees, as usual, so don't be afraid to consider the other candidates before purposefully striding right past them and voting for your favorite band anyway.

Some of the bands in power metal has no relation to metal anymore, its more like pop on speed. Cains Offering is probably the worst case, poorest piece of shit Ive heard in a long time. The ratings these albums gets is feeding my misanthropy  Galneryus is getting my vote.

Just to add to the Power/Heavy comments, felt Power was fucking awful, nothing particularly strong there (and to top it off, Blind Guardian's album was the worst of theirs I've ever heard). However I felt Heavy was in better form than a good amount of previous years, felt Enforcer and Satan were both pretty solid, first Iron Maiden album I've (with some mixed feelings maybe) enjoyed since BNW, and Vhol was also pretty interesting. As far as that genre's gone in recent years, you're lucky to get a single decent album outta it. Apart from that, really enjoying the awards so far, thanks to the Staff. If Clutch's album is the one thing I take away from this awards, its worth it because that album is insanely fun, cannot stop listening to it.

I'm torn between a few options in the heavy/melodic section (Satan, Trial, Vhol... Agh, hard choice). As if it really matters since 'Maiden, Amorphis, or Motorhead is probably gonna end up winning, but I ain't bitter over it. Also, I was surprised to see that Galneryus wasn't on the main voting list for power metal, after how highly it's been rated. Dunno if I'm gonna vote for it yet (Good album, not quite as good as their prior outputs), but it just seems weird that it wasn't put on the list.
