Written by [user id=109200] on 12.12.2010 at 23:05 Yes, definitely a great release  And Tom Sedotschenko's vocals are painful, genuine, and he leaves his soul on this album. It's also a varied album, giving some harsh/clean vocals, some more eerie melodic parts, as well as some abrasive gothic metal. Buying the remastered version of this album (and of Seasons) was well worth it. Great packaging and improved sound.

It took me a few spins to grasp it, but when I did, it was totally worth it. Honestly it surprises me you like this so much. Didn't know you were into gothic metal all that much. Btw, Tom Sedotschenko's vocals are among the best vocals I've ever heard. Really talented guy, what a shame he's gone.

Stormbirds is one of those albums that I never tire of, even now. And yeah, Tom was indeed an extraordinary vocalist. One of the key highlights of Stormbirds is his singing. Elevated it to another level.
