Solid, rocking album but it doesn't leave much of an impression. Maybe the problem is it doesn't have any smashing heavy metal hits.

I still remember how blown away I was when hearing this one, had it on repeat while playing Morrowind back in the early 2000. Oh those were the days. It's not a masterpiece but it has some excellent material and it's one of the most even albums by them. The production is also spot-on, gives the songs that extra push.

The field is now silent, the conflict is done

I love the production of this album. I can't tell what they did here technically, but Killing Ground sounds near perfect in my ears. Oh yeah, and the music kills too, it's the same great Saxon as always.

I much prefer later Saxon stuff over 80's classics and this album is one of the big reasons for it! Title track, "Deeds Of Glory", "Hell Freezes Over", "Dragons Lair", "Shadows On The Wal", King Crimson cover - alot of great songs here!
