Progressive metal... that makes me laugh.

This album is shit as usual...

Ordinary men hate solitude. But the Master makes use of it, embracing his aloneness, realizing he is one with the whole universe (Lao Tzu).

Just listened to it on Spotify... *Deep breath*... The new (Geoff Tate) Queensryche album is fucking awful. Shitty choruses, repetitive riffs and bland overproduced vocals. He even had the balls to re-record some of the better Degarmo-era songs. Guess how that turned out? Fuck off Tate, you're done. La Torre's album will shit on this, even if the La Torre version is just him fellating the mic, dropping it and then screaming "EEEERRRREEECCCCTTTTIIIOOOONNNN OBTAINED".

I actually expected something worse from him.. It's not a Queensryche album, far from that but it's definitely better than Dedicated to Chaos.. Disappointing album but it could be worse...

The announcement on the band's website (a bit after the fact, but I've only just bothered to look at it) is shameful and childish, mentioning not once but twice how the initials of the album (F.U.) are not coincidental, etc. How low can they (well, Geoff really) go? To think I once had so much respect for the guy. I think it's quite clear who's going to win this "battle", at least from an artistic point of view. The new-ish other Queensryche song "Redemption" sounds quite good, and I for one am actually looking forward to the album, something I haven't been able to say about Queensryche for a long time.

I listened to the 2013 version of "I Don't Believe In Love" and then to the original one. Jesus what a huge difference, as some guy from youtube points out, on the current version, Tate is like a dwarf trying to sit on a bar stool. The delivery on the '88 version is just superb, efortless and soaring. The delivery on this one is bland, forced, uninspiring and even off-key at points.

...This is insulting.
In the purest sense of the word, this really is like a giant "F.U." to anyone who had trust in Tate.
I mean, he's a great vocalist and all, but if you're going to make an album this half-assed, then you don't deserve my respect.
Loved you on Promised Land.
It's really a shame.
