Any beer from Deschutes Brewery or Stone Brewery. Fucking excellent stuff, there.

I'm really close to production of first liters of mead....

The only time I consume alcohol is at a party, and even then it's a very small amount. Just one or two rum and Cokes is enough for me, the rest of the night I just drink the Coke on its own or water. I just need a little liquid courage to start chatting up a pretty lady, I don't want to drink so much I don't remember what kind of night I had! And I'd like to be sober enough to be able to show her a good time back at my place if I'm lucky. HA!

So question for the North American drinkers here, what's a half decent whiskey that's aptly found in box stores? (Liquor stores)

Lately I've just had some Wisers and it was pretty meh. Nice and smooth though.

for a common whiskey i'd go Jameson. it's boring eventually but it could last a bit. if your looking for a night I'd go with Brokers, it's cheap and easy to drink. You'll learn your own tastes. Most of the brands of alcohol are just over-pretentious bunches of bollox. I'm sorry but I find it funny how some of the only ways people can socialize is with booze. what happened to common interests and honesty? I fight with this thought.

I think i understand and am aware that you probably know more on the subject. The names I said are most assuredly found in any liquor store though, regardless of the details surrounding them.

We don't get Deschutes products in NY, but I did stockpile some Black Butte Porter in my fridge. Waiting for a cold day for one of those and a glass of Lagavulin.

Great finish drink, drink down half litre great taste, clean fresh feeling in mouth and you're happy

How blatant is the peppermint? Like are we talking blasting peppermint flavor or just a slight hint in the aftertaste? (Asking because peppermint is one of my favorite flavors.)

Doesn't sound bad at all. I don't think we have access to that brand here, but according to some reviews online it tastes similar to Crème de menthe, which is nice.

According to Wiki, "[the] most common ways to enjoy Minttu are to drink it as an ice cold shot or on the rocks. In Finland, it is often consumed together with either hot or cold chocolate."

So basically peppermint hot chocolate that gets you drunk. Finland knows what's up.
