i dont mean movies that are SO good that they blow your minds. i'm talking about movies that were either horrible, or so weird that they fucked your mind with sever headaches for being so weird, or random, or confusing, or slow or whatever....they are basically created to induce migraines

so what some movies that induce insane migraines? i would vote Donni Darko, and The Machinest

reason why i pick donni darko is becuase the whole movie was so dry and random. from a weird fucked up guy dressed in a bunny suit, to einstines E=MC square theory, to weird projectiles comming out of peoples bodies to one of the slowest, and pointless plots ever made. it was a really bizar movie that almost semt like it came out of the twilight zone

the machinist coz he is running away from himself, or soemthing. he is dreaming, yet he hasnt slept for over a year...its one bizare movie with weird de-ja vu and other weirdness. i still dont get what the movie was teaching me...

what are your mind fucks?

Not that shocking? Well, your mileage may vary, cause it sure as hell was shocking for me. What kind of sick, twisted mind would come up with something like that?

Anyway, mind fucking movies. Hrm, the entire David Lynch canon for a start (minus The Straight Story), but ESPECIALLY Eraserhead and Inland Empire. Also, a lot of David Cronenberg movies. I love him, he's one of my favourite directors of all time, but for a lot of his movies, just... WHAT??? Check out The Brood and his short film (actually 65 minutes) Stereo for his best mindfuck moments.

Concept = vaguely shocking, Execution = humorous (probably unintentionally) and lacked a remarkable amount of visual grossness that one would expect, which I approve of as it more or less avoided the tortureporn genre. I wouldn't really call it a mindfucking movie even though I mentioned it. Truly mindfucking films would belong to, as you say, Inland Empire, et al

Hmmm movies that fucked up my mind ?

I'd say Valhalla Rising, so slow, pretty random story and this empty feeling with the lack of dialogue and majestic landscapes. Awesome movie !
Oh, and Salo or the 120 days in Sodom : it's so depraved and perverse. Even if the book is much worse, the visual impact (and not just your imagination) makes it pretty strong.
Last one i'm thinking of is Eraserhead. So random and lots of "wtf?" moments !

Can't believe I forgot Salo. Still, I didn't think of movies that were perverse or gory, I thought of surreal arthouse-type stuff. But if you're looking for something that blends those two, I would reccommend Vase de Noces. On second thoughts, I wouldn't reccommend Vase de Noces to anybody, because it's just so utterly disgusting. (You might know it as The Pig Fucking Movie.)

This movie, The Long Kiss Goodnight was released in 1996. World Trade Center Bombing is mentioned and also blaming the "Muslims" for a false flag attack... 'naturally'.

The Box, Richard Kelly. It took two watches to work out what happened. Personally, I don't think it should've been a movie, because it just feels like a really long episode of dr who.

The only movie I can think of that literally fucked up my mind is Mulholland Drive. I doubt I will ever watch it again anytime soon. But most probably will get to Lynch's other movies now.

Primer, Inland Empire, Donnie Darko, Borgman and Lost Highway were real mindfucks the first time around. Now that I have puzzled them together they all seem to make perfect sense though. They are a mindfuck both in the sense that they make simple no sense until you've watched them a few times and/or tried to puzzle together the surrealistic weirdness in the movies, as well as a mindfuck in the sense that they are mindfuckingly (did I just make up that word?) great. Come to think of it, most of them probably have been mentioned here except Borgman and maybe Primer. Recommended stuff!

How is Donnie Darko a real mindfuck? It already makes sense upon first viewing.

The Director's Cut makes the whole thing pretty streamlined as they settle for a certain perspective of the story. The original movie though, I found ambiguous as hell.

What's you take on the story, Marcel? Inter-dimensional "superhero" or plain schizophrenic teenager? Or something else...?

Anyway... Watch Primer or Inland Empire if you haven't already

I would call neither Enemy nor Donnie Darko mindfucky at all. Both are really good suspense thrillers though.

Like I posted above only true mindfuck movie I've watched is Mulholland Dr. Gotta get onto the other Lynch movies soon.

Mad Mike

I have a few here...

2001: A Space Odyssey. It's pretty straight forward until the last half hour, where you try to figure out just how many hits of acid Kubrick was taking at the time.

Back to the Future Part II. While the first one was straightforward and lighthearted, this one just shows how strange and twisted things can get while messing with the space-time continuum.

Fantasia. Pretty underrated Disney film in comparison with its contemporaries like Snow White, Pinocchio and Bambi. The imagery in here just messes with your head.

Inception. Gotta include Nolan in this somehow.

The Room. No explanation necessary.
