Ajattara - New Album Details
Finnish metallers Ajattara will release their new album, entitled "Noitumaa", on April 15 via Spinefarm Records. The CD was recorded at D-Studio in Finland.

Yep, it's an acoustic folk album. Some of it is done surprisingly well, but overall it's a weak album.

The music seems disjointed and weak. The vocals screech straight over the top. It's boring. There is no atmosphere to speak of, nor enjoyment to be found. Worthless release in my opinion.

Written by MetalManic on 21.03.2009 at 15:13 Perhaps you enjoy it more than I, which is fine. Truly I don't care much if an album is 'pure' despite sounding absolutely terrible. Good on them for experimenting though. It does feel unique, at least. But I don't think this one worked.

Buf... Noitumaa shocked me. The worst Ajattara album I've heared by difference. I love all the others but this... hell, too bad.

I'm in agreement with the haters. When I first heard it, I thought it was joke, but it just kept going and going and going like that. Extremely disappointing release. I might have enjoyed it more had they done a full-blown electric album of all these songs then included these acoustic versions as a bonus disc, but by themselves they just don't do it for me.
