The world has gone crazy! And we thought that the world had reached the last degree of brutality with the atomic bomb... Ok the comparison is not really cool, but maybe you will change your mind when you hear this carnage called 'Vulgar Display Of Power'. Nevertheless, Pantera were not beginners anymore, as the previous album 'Cowboys From Hell' had been acclaimed by the critics.

Only a band like Pantera can appear on Spongebob and still be considered bad-ass mutherfuckers.

Walk is the most boring song of all time. Juz saying.

Couldn't agree more. It doesn't even work as a lullaby though. At least lullabies have flow.

It's a quality pub song though, if you get a bunch of hairy metallers to sing along to it.

I wouldn't know, unfortunately. I only hang with completely shaven art poppers at cafes.

Anselmo's been asking to join us, but with such a harsh exterior and his past aggression (as heard on this album, for instance), I simply don't think he'll fit into our clique.

Which is too bad. He'd make for a great Moby look-alike.

Indeed, he can be Fucking Hostile if you try to get a Rise out of him. He'll never feel This Love. He should Walk away because frankly he's No Good.

Great album, just raw power. Of course now it would seem out-dated to a new listener but, just like all the other classic bands/albums, it takes it's place in metal-shaping history.

An absolutely monumental album, marred only by a couple of weak (er) songs ('Living in a Hole' and 'Regular People' don't quite match the quality or standards set by the first four songs). Just look at the album cover and you can pretty much see how aggressive and powerful this album gets. An album for the zombie apocalypse? Perhaps

Best metal album for drinking ever probably, it gets you so pumped. With riffs like the intro to 'By Demons Be Driven' I always wake up the next day with horrible neck pain...

Simply one of the best metal albums. You´ll never ever hear such an groovy, insane sound, Pantera had in this album. Unfortunately they influenced some of the nu metal and metalcore bands with this album.

This is an album that has it all. Fast thrash metal, punchy slower stuff, some of the best riffs ever recorded and great lyrics that are sung with power, passion and aggression.

I love Dime's riff in Down in a Hole...By Demons has some nice shredding as well...this album's a great example (possibly the best example) of what a guitar legend Dime was...People always say this was Exhorder ripoff, but Exhorder never had riffs even half this good.

Not only that and the Exhorder debut is clearly extremely Slayer influenced.

This album is evil! First off, the album cover is just horrific! They punch a weak old lady that can't defend herself. HOW COULD THEY DO THIS?! DO THEY FEEL BAD AT ALL?! All of the songs on this album are bad and evil. F-ing Hostile is bad because they swear. This Love is bad because it could make you go insane. No Good (Attack the Radical) is racist, Rise sings about dominating the world, and By Ds Be Driven is a satanic song that teaches you to sacrifice Christian children in the dark lord's name. None of the other songs I trust. Even the I Am the Night title track, in spite of the evil Tender As line, is better than this stupid stuff. Even that song is the least bad of these bad songs. Pantera has gotten worse and I think they have evil intentions. Avoid this music before you start praising the dark lord.

Exactly how you should sound if you lack the talent to play raw intense thrash. Fun and catchy although very overrated.

You are not metal enough until you visit Kenya. The cradle of mankind, where man learnt first to work with stones and first enjoyed the sounds produced by banging stones which later influenced metal in all its sounds and genres.

This album would be decent if it didn't have Phil Anselmo on the vocals and everything he entails. More over, it would actually be a very good album if in addition to that it had a decent guitar tone. As it is though it's the worst album I've bothered to listen to from start to finish.

Easily Pantera's best and one of the greatest albums ever made.

Amazing riffs.
Amazing solos.
Amazing bass/vocals/drums.

9.8/10 for me - No Good (Attack The Radical), Live In A Hole, Regular People (Conceit) and By Demons Be Driven are just slightly weaker than the other songs be a perfect 10/10.
