Throes Of Dawn have been around for quite some time, I remember having listened to them from a friend about 6-7 years ago, to be more precise it was Binding Of The Spirit that I listened to, powerful and atmospheric as far as I recall. Quicksilver Clouds followed, having not listened to it though, but I suppose it moves in the same vein as its predecessor. A few years of silence and hop! The Great Fleet Of Echoes makes its appearance with Throes Of Dawn making their sound lighter and putting a greater effort on the atmospheric term. Read more ›› |

Brilliant album!!! I don't care, if they have been influenced by so many other bands - they have been influenced by the best! It doesn't happen often with me, but I have been listening to this album for 3 days straight - from dusk till dawn  and still it doesn't start to bore me! It has everything I want and love in metal - greath atmosphere, beautiful and catchy melodies, ocassional growling, and .... and this elusive feeling that I am listening to something out of this world, something that Tiamat, Anathema, Madrigal, Paradise Lost and others started, but, alas, doesn't seem to do anymore.Maybe I'm overrating this album, but I love it and I don't vote 10 very often, but ..... but this time I am hooked on this. Great job, guys! I must give a more careful listen to their previous albums, but after the first listens, they didn't impress me so much as this masterpiece. A true hidden gem, I will dare to say!

Some of the songs make me think of a heavier version of Keldian.

Throes of Dawn 6 hrs · To celebrate the 10 year anniversary of THROES OF DAWN´s fifth album, "The Great Fleet of Echoes", we are glad to announce that The Vinyl Division is releasing the album in vinyl format! The album has been sold-out for many years, so we are very excited about this vinyl release. The album will come in two gatefold versions with black or golden vinyl and it will feature one unreleased bonus song. The exact release date is still TBA, but it is scheduled for 2020. We will keep you posted when we have more information regarding the release date.
