Stunning album, absolutely stunning start to finish.

When i heard it the first time each songs gave me goosebumps and it still .. this album is magic ,dont know why it is not well known as crimson and crimson II of Edge Of Sanity .. dan swano is probably the best musician ,song writer and sound engineer in the entire world

Excellent album, all of the songs are beautifully composed, especially "Add Reality"...

Lovely piece of prog, but somehow the album as a whole didn't quite "click" for me. I adore it, but I cannot give it a 10 at the moment, maybe it will grow on me. I actually would prefer if the album was instrumental, sorry Dan.

EDIT: As expected, time (and listening to the album repeatedly again and again and...) changed my mind about the vocals. I now think that the harsh vocals accompanying the beautiful, often very uplifting melodies form a wonderful contrast and the album would suffer for the lack of this. This album is very, very close to perfection.

Sun of the Night and Add Reality are both some of the best pieces of music I've ever heard.

This man, he's... blah. This is probably one of the most pleasant-sounding prog albums ever, instantly catchy but with ensured longevity. Like all the best traits of Nightingale X 10.

You may have changed your view of the album since your post but don't you think your vote should reflect what the album deserves?

Surely an album deserving its place amongst the top 200 is worthy of a 9 or 10 regardless of personal sentimental value

I've tried listening to it several times, since I absolutely adore Swano. But, it's just boring, while being incredibly well done, to me (believe, I've tried to wrap my head around my feelings towards this album). Thus, it has a 6.

I think you should vote especially according to your personal sentimental value. All my album votes reflect how much I enjoyed listening to that particular album.

A perfectly reasonable notion, but such ideals limits your capacity to vote fairly. One should vote as a reviewer should rate: by forcing objectivity upon the process. Inaccessible albums are excessively underrated on the basis of personal sentimental value. Merit should always make up a large portion of the vote.

So just because a band worked their asses off and make a grand album that many love I must rate it high despite me not liking it one bit? Sounds just wrong to say the least.

If I rated based on my enjoyment of an album, my votes would be substantially lower. There are musical merits to be appreciated beyond that and voting should reflect just that: your level of appreciation.
