Additional info
A mention in the booklet reads:
"Absolutely no effects were used on the vocals in any way"

Nespithe means "The Spine", and Erecshyrinol means "No Lyrics Here." They can be decrypted by grouping the letters in three, starting at the end of the word, and reversing the order of those groups.

Reissued by Repulse Records (RPS 014) with "The Four Instructive Tales Of Decomposition" demo as bonus tracks. Unlike the rumor that was going around, Repulse had the band's permission. Demilich only decided to let people download this album because they've never received any payment from the Necropolis reissue. This album was also reissued by Pavement Records. It was reissued again in 2002 by Century Media Records as a digipak with "The Four Instructive Tales Of Decomposition" demo as bonus tracks.

Also released on tape by Sick Records (Poland). This release was licensed by Repulse.

Also released on 12" vinyl and CD by Spanish label Xtreem Music in 2009. It contains no insert and has typos on the back side of the cover. This version was mastered by label owner Dave Rotten at Xtreem Music Masterings in January 2009 (It has the same bonus tracks as the Repulse edition).

It seems so simple. All you have to do in order to acquire a legendary status in the underground Death metal world is this - be unique. It is, apparently, one of the most difficult things of all for many a band these days.

Back to '93. Death metal was still young so it was easier to stand out, I'll give you that, but there were still a couple of bands that did something in those days that nobody was ever able to copy. Not then, not now. One of those bands is the bizarre Demilich. 1993 sees the release of their sole full-length Nesphite (or "The Spine") and to this day it remains an incredible and breath-taking album.

I forgot how much this album absolutely slays every death metal album released in the last decade, practically.

I should listen to this again. It's been... uh, holy shit. I think it's actually been like 4 years since I gave this any attention. :/

Pretty much the same with me. Before I thought it was cool, now it's like the best set of Lego with everything slotting into place. It boggles the mind that this is from 1993.

I thought it was really good when I first heard it, but that was even before I was really into death metal and more extreme forms of already extreme genres, so I don't know if I'd think better or worse of it now. Maybe I'll listen to it... right now actually, while I've got the place to myself.

Honestly. The vocals just don't sound good in my opinion. It's been a while since I've listened to this... which was once a long time ago, and I remember finding the vocals more attractive then :/ Good songwriting on the other hand (and an awesome album cover)

An update from Sami Jämsén, who's mixing and mastering the compilation at the moment:

"The stuff that nightmares are made of. A new song by Demilich that I've been mixing for what.. 7 years. Insane pattern changes, impossible scales, superlow tuning, the damn weirdest time signatures. Meshuggah meets Fantomas feeling all over. But now.. very close to wrapping this up for good."

I wouldn't say it's the same thing at all. As far as I know this was never a promised thing, in fact I don't recall it ever being mentioned before. This is probably something that is being tinkered with every so often when he gets a break in his life as a bonus to long time fans. Demilich aren't actually together after all.

I know that they never set a deadline for album but the guys is using the complexity of music and stuff like odd signatures as excuse I think and this is similar to the case of that notorious ext power metal band.

It's not an album, it's just one song, presumably a remix of one written decades ago I also don't see him making excuses here. He mentioned the complexity of the music just to tantalise people. The difference with Jari is that he promised something, put the deadline back, then made excuses and then repeated the pattern. This is the first time, as far as I know, that this song has ever been mentioned so the fact he's spent 7 years tinkering with it is of no consequence to anyone as no one knew about it.

True. I guess wintersun has made me over sensitive when it comes to music that takes so long to be produced/released

I admitted that I overrated here but I cannot deny that I've got allergic because of that Time album. Musicians can spend as much time as they want on writing and recording but they do not have the right to fool their fans.

Not massively keen on the new mix. It's clearer, but also seems bassier, or perhaps quieter would be a better description, and the guitar's less prominent and piercing so the drums feel further forward. Lacks the original's vibrancy.

The vocals sound like they would fit better on a pornogrind record, but it also makes it stand out in the osdm crowd. Nice album overall with some extremely catchy tracks. Awesome song names too!
