I also have more recordings on my Soundcloud page as well: https://soundcloud.com/codera

I'm not a metal musician as I don't have a electric guitar, bass, or drums, just an acoustic guitar and piano, but I have been influenced by various metal bands with my sound. I'm not a pro by any means, it's just a fun hobby being able to create my own music.

Hi folks!

We are open minded metal band from Poland called Valdenburg and we recorded our first album for literally zero money. We done everything (even with cover art) by our hands, so if you have a moment, please take a listen of our year work record and say us what do you think! Thank you from bottom of my hearth for all opinions and thoughts, and have a great day/night or meal if you have one now.

What kind of an insanobrain musician uploads an acoustic ambient interlude from his upcoming album to Youtube before the album's title is even revealed? Apparently, this one.

This would've been the 3d song from the 2nd Dreadrealm album. I am quite saticfied with it myself, but the rest of the material I wrote wasn't up to standard, so to hell with a 2nd album.

Dude, what is wrong with you?

The sole criticism you received for The Essence Of Winter was that some people would have loved to hear more of your (harsh) vocals.
Then you deliver just to point out that there'll never be a sophomore album?

PS: great track, I'm really digging the interplay of harsh vocals and cleans

TEOW was very well received indeed... and I made a promise in a video back when I released it. "If the next album isn't better, I won't release it". As I've said, the music is kind of just not in me anymore. Even that one song I posted here was completed almost 2 years ago. Since then I've had no inspiration for riffs, melodies, lyrics or anything. That's just how it is. I honestly don't know what else to do about it other than to let people know that there is no point in them waiting for the next album (I made a post on FB too a few months ago).

I know that's all pretty weird. I am weird. Sorry.

That I find surprising, honestly. I always felt that this song was sssssssslightly below the level of TEOW. But I am glad you enjoyed it of course.

You really do need to give the album another spin. It is just great.

Metren, thanks for sharing the farewell gift. Now, I would start the rant but Starvynth already did that for me and you have justified your decision to call it quits properly so there's not much left to say. I love the interplay between the harsh and the clean vocals as well, but just like you I feel that the song overall is slightly inferior to what you did in TEOW. Maybe it's the keys I don't dig as much, I don't know. Still, it's better than 90% of the atmoblack I generally come across.

Just so you know, I am probably one of the biggest fanboys of TEOF. I rarely come back to albums I review because I listen to them so many times in order to review them that I get a bit fed up with them. But I still revisit this debut of yours, especially at this time of the year, it is great company for winter days. It's such a shame it never got a physical release.

Good to know! Be warned however, that is one of the less cheesy tracks XD. I think I actually have a decent shot at completeing this because of the lack of pressure and expectations (especially from myself), since this is just a quarantine-era hobby/pet project.

This is probably one of the weirdest things I'll ever upload and share. It's a bunch of songs (some more demoish than others) and half-songs that I like well enough to share them with the world, but don't like enough to put onto a proper album some day. There's pop here, there's proggy stuff with death growls, there's me singing like a chick using falsetto and there's even some AutoTune; Creepy lyrics in some songs, that's a thing here too.

Track by track explanations of what the hell's going on:

1) And The Lightning Struck Twice/Forest Of Love - this is two half-finished tracks from completely different genres arbitrarily forced to be one song. Fake female vocals appear. Funny? I am not sure. Bizarre? Almost certainly.

2) Winter Morning Bipolar - it was supposed to be the opening track of a tongue-in-cheek synthrock/metal concept album, but I got bored before the album ever came close to being finished. The vocal mix in this is quite bad.

3) The Things You Do - a simple pop song, inspired by the likes of Carly Rae Jepsen, Alex Cameron and Kirin J. Callinan. The lyrics are sort of creepy and obsessive, but are meant to be taken ironically. I'd dedicate the song to my wife but I doubt she'd actually like that.

4) Now It's Dark - this is a more serious song about my mental health struggles. Musically, it's an attempt to mix something Porcupine Tree-like with something Pink Floyd-like. I don't think it worked.

5) Sun, The Soulless - I had some riff ideas and came up with chord progressions that inspired me. Not enough to actually make a complete song, though. It's a song about how much I dislike sunny/warm weather.

6) Lady Everblossom - this song is a piece of comedy, nothing more. The vocal sample is taken from an episode of Naruto Abridged by Ninjabridge on YouTube.

7) The Tableware Minstrel - a three-part synthy pop song about the rise and fall of Noah Antwiler, a mostly forgotten internet movie and video game critic. I grew up watching his videos and always wanted to make a song about his miserable yet memorable fall from grace. I didn't use AutoTune in this one, so the singing is pretty crap and pitchy AF. Musically, it is once again inspired by the styles of Alex Cameron and Kirin J. Callinan

8) The Scent Of Rain Gives Life - the most serious song on here. I suppose it's very Opethy. It's an older creation of mine and I ruined the mix by compressing it all to hell. I am proud of the riffs in it.

9) Architects Of Misery - another song about internet critics/celebrities. This is similar to the previous song in tone and execution. The lyrics talk about the #changethechannel controversy.

10) One Day At A Time - this was supposed to be the ending track to the previously mentioned concept album. AutoTune didn't even help my vocals. Yikes. Nyckelharpa mixed with Nexus2 arpeggiators and simple riffs. It gets kind of thrashy in the middle.

11) Devil On a G-string - Pop rock song inspired by the visual novel of the same name. No spoilers for those who haven't played G-senjou no maou.

I honestly don't have a clue if anyone will get anything from listening to the album at all, but there's no point hiding these songs from the world either. I think. Maybe.

I hope that I won't hurt your feelings if I say that this was not really my thing. I liked the solos of "Now It's Dark" and "Lady Everblossom", the middle part of "One Day At A Time" and "The Scent Of Rain Gives Life" was interesting as a whole but that's about it.. I also appreciate the lyrics of "The Things You Do".

You didn't hurt my feelings at all, no worries! Thing is, most of the material here is not even my thing. It's me experimenting with genres I normally don't compose/record in and goofing around with more mainstream sounding... things. I'm actually surprised (and grateful) that you took the time to listen to this entire compilation.

Seriously, there's a song titled "Chakayayaya" on here. I think only weirdos would find this entire album to be their thing

Wow! Those sound really incredible! You're playing all of the instruments here?
I don't play any instrument, so I find it mindblowing to think of someone playing several instruments and then being able to mix it all together to create something that sounds good. What do you record first, the drums? And then play the guitars over the drum track?
