That means nothing really. The recent Insomnium had a similar score, as did the last Septic Flesh, they weren't worth more than 7ish. Any kind of melodic doom or melodeath gets absurdly high scores these days.

This actually deserves a high score "not a 9 obviously" but it has a lot of creativity and immense emotions invested in it

Sadly, you're completely right. The first two listens revealed nothing spectacular, but I'll give it a bit more time before I rate it (and yeah, I feel a 7 coming).

EDIT: Ya, definitely a pretty good release, but not worthy of a 9.1 by any stretch of imagination.
Imma give it a strong 8.

The only album by this band n i was blown away...a pure masterpiece..!!!

I finally found a download. I can't find this album anywhere under 50 euros, it's rediculous! Even though it would be totally worth it. This album is breathtaking. Melodic doom metal at its best!

Just spun this today. It's pretty good. I am not blown away or anything. The songs mostly all sound the same. BTW, my definition of doom metal must be different than most because I don't here any doom in this at all, in fact, I'd call this gothic more so than anything.

I can see why you would say that, I hear a bit of a gothic sound as well. As I understand it there is less that distinguishes Melodic Doom like this than those which are more, say, less melodic Death Doom. As the review points out it sounds a bit like the gothic doom of Katatonia at times, that's good comparison I think. It's your Swallow The Sun kind of doom.

It's just one or two songs too short, but truly amazing nonetheless. I was surprised how much I enjoyed this after so many spins.

One of my all time fav in doom metal albums

Way too fluffy at points.

Short and effective. It delivers its point in less than 40 mins and in a very high standard.

At first I found it like meh! but after these years I couldn't get it off my playlist. today I came to update my rating from 8 to 10. The song Distress... I can't get enough of its solo.

Quite a strong debut, too bad they disbanded. On the other hand, there would be no AtomA if Slumber still excisted...
This album brings back some memories of old Tiamat, Opeth and Katatonia and I love the track "Rapture".

Oh I didn't comment here. This is the best melodic death/doom act, a historic album.

It took more than three years for me to enjoy this album. There were just something in the songs that made me not to delete them from my player. But now I can't live without them. A melodic masterpiece, you can even play in your funeral.
