I just discovered that one of my favorite A-ha songs "Velvet" is a rip-off of The Cure's "Just Like Heaven". The female vocals in A-ha's song and the lead synth in The Cure's are too similar for it to be a coincidence in my ears. My disappointment is immeasurable and my day is... ...oh hey, Baldur's Gate 3 finished downloading! YeeeeeahhhH!

I grew up with BG and BG2 and while this game is vastly different I can't contain my excitement to be back in this world.... first I played a benevolent bard which was fun as hell, throwing insults at enemies to make them fail their attacks, then I played as the dark urge and my fuck was it properly morbid, and now I'm trying out a wild shape druid. And I discover new things every time, too. I would love to play it multiplayer with a group of dedicated people one of these days, it's bound to be utter Mayhem

Wish everyone here, a very Happy Deepawali(Diwali). It's the biggest festival of India mainly belongs to Hindu traditionalism as it symbolises the spiritual "victory of light over darkness, good over evil, and knowledge over ignorance". It was incepted when Lord Rama returned home(with his wife and his brother) after defeating demonic king Ravana. To know more about this festival, it's here

So, I just found out that my thesis advisor personally knew a Japanese physicist who directly worked with Richard Feynman. That Japanese physicist is Toichiro Kinoshita, who just died in March 2023 at the age of 98(!). Here is a picture of (a younger) Kinoshita (left) with Feynman (right):  So, I'm connected to Feynman via only two people!
