Relatively to anyone I know this is a highly underated technical thrash band from California. They had their cd, Out For Blood, come out a month ago in the U.S, and about 2 months ago in Europe. Have any of you heard of them? Has anyone heard their earlier material, because I want to know more about it.

Yeah, they're pretty good. This is yet another great band that Steve DiGiorgio is a part of. I'm going to see them live in about a week and a half and I can't wait. I actually almost bought Out For Blood yesterday, but I already had like 6 or 7 albums in my hand so I had to put it back. I'll get it soon.

I have never heard of them before, but I'm definitely interested. I love californian bands ^^ It makes my concert life a lot easier since I live in the thrashers's bay area

If you want to hear some stuff by them here is their myspace: http://www.myspace.com/sadus

Their song Out for Blood really got me hooked on them. And Steve DiGiorgio is a nasty bassist, I love the sound.

I have that problem all the time, but if you keep trying later or something you should hear them sometime. Or try youtube.com, which then you can see them playing live.

Sadus are a very under-rated band, perhaps the most in the entire thrash genre... They are definately wirrth a listen... and are still going strong with their newest album...

It's indeed a great song, but, to be honest, that's the only good song on their new album, IMO (unless you also include the Dark Angel cover for "Merciless Death").

I've heard all of their full-lenghts + two more demos, and I simply love this band. Among the best thrash bands. Ever. I mostly listen to the first two albums, though. Steve DiGiorgio's bass playing is total insanity. The best bassist I've ever heard (alongside Roger Patterson, of course). The vocals are great; they sound like a madman singing, and I really like that. And the early albums had such aggressiveness. The drums are madly fast at times. I worship those technical riffs. These guys used to be fucking perfect, brilliant, amazing. They sure are fucking underrated. Chemical Exposure (previously called Illusions) and Swallowed In Black are two brilliant thrash works, and I can't pass a week in my life without giving these two albums a listen. I just can't understand how they suddenly became what they are nowadays. One half of the songs on Out For Blood sounds to me like Nu metal, the other half sounds somewhere between 'decent' and 'boring'. I couldn't enjoy anything but the titlesong. But eh, I guess nothing stays perfect forever

I sure hope they re-release their first two albums, though.

one thing that stands out in this band for me is ... steve degiorgio ... ive followed his work from ITP and i'm glad i also came across sadus .. some really nice albums , chemical warfare, a vision of misery, out for blood ... all amazing albums, though i'd say a vision of misery has to be my fav album.... steve puts in some really cool bass lines

hmm strange i found most of the songs on Out for Blood extremely interesting. Freedom, Crazy, Freak, Sick, Down, Cursed, Out for Blood. all of them are incredible (especially Freedom).

sadus is great thrash metal, indeed very underrated. i agree with the fact that the last album is a bit different tjan the old stuff, but it's still a very very good album.it's more mature and has a lot of interesting parts in most of it's songs.and no nu-metal elements, like someone said

Last album was good, but not the best. I cant easly say that my note depends only on entire album as a whole piece, I can can only judge that some of songs are brilliant, some are, let's say just less interesting. But the hell, THEY'RE ALIVE, as not many ols school stars from 80's. It's really solid come-back step, but I'm courious if they fall to sleep again..better no. All in Steve's hands, I know he can move the rocks (still can't stop loving his double neck bass )

Their older work is obviously amazingg. Out For Blood is way different, don't listen to it with Swallowed In Black in you head. On itself, it's certainly not a bad album, some very good songs and just some decent ones. Steve is the man of course

I don't think they are prog thrash, but surely technical thrash. Anyway, yeah, only early Sadus is the worthy stuff. Their latter albums are kind of "dry", and I can't listen to the last album except of the title track. The vocals aren't as mad as in the old albums, Steve DiGiorgio barely plays any crazy bass parts, and riffs sound "new age" like you put... their early era is surely the highest point of their career. I like the first two albums the most. The first one is more raw and aggressive, the second one is more technical. Both are thrash masterpieces.

Cannot disagree with the underrated tag given to Sadus in this thread. They are seriously one of the best death/thrash bands that were and still are. Their debut Illusions is untouchable. And Swallowed in Black and A vision of Misery were worthy follow ups, with even more technical and proficient playing and song writing. A bit of lapse in the mid 90's with Rob Moore leaving, and a long hiatus but the latest album is not shabby at all. Took me a bit to get into to it though (Some really cheesy lyrics and chorus's, and musically quite a contrast to old Sadus).

Considering when the debut was recorded (In 1988 it was way ahead of it's time), and the fact they initially self financed and released it, puts them in a class of their own. And yeah Steve Digiorgio is the man!

get all three of them. But I don't think they have been released yet. But will very soon be released. Hopefully we'll also see the release of Slaughter In The Vatican and the Law by Exhorder soon.
