This album introduced me to this band. It's got an awesome sound. Sadly, I couldn't find it back in any of their other albums which is a shame.

This is the album I turn to when things go downhill, it's got a wonderful cathartic atmosphere. This is not a very good pop album, but I feel like The Haunted are great at expressing emotion, and this album is definitely one of their better ones for raw feeling conveyed.

The problem with this album, is it's too long, and overloaded with filler. Some of the songs are amongst my fave Haunted songs, like "The Flood", and especially "The Medication", but overall, it's certainly not amongst the band's best works. I'd definitely take it over the two albums which followed it though.

"The Flood". Is the song about "Halo"?

Haha! Unfortunately not. As far as I can remember, "The Dead Eye" is a concept album, but I have no idea what it's about. It's nothing to do with Halo though, sadly.

Nope. Teen angst.

This album is brilliant from start to finish. It's really dark, and Dolving adds so much more emotion than Aro ever could.

I think a lot of focus on trying to attempt an overall "different" sound made this album feel like a mixed bag in the end. I mean, it's certainly promising most of the time and is as adventurous as The Haunted's previous two records, but it simply grows weary after the first few tracks have unfolded their fury. Not saying this is boring material, but it does require a few listens if you're looking to get something out of it. The only two songs which really stand out-and do so because they're excellently well-written-are "The Drowning" and "The Reflection" in my opinion. Everything else seems solid but largely unmoving.

For me this is their second best album after the legendary "The Haunted Made Me Do It". It is more consistent and well-composed. Probably the reason for not been so popular is that the Haunted draw attention from people that like more aggressive sound. I like to spin it around "03. The Medication" "05. The Reflection" "07. The Fallout" (oh that outro) "10. The Shifter" "11. The Cynic" and "13. The Stain" (my fav riff there).
