Kalmah are one of the biggest names in Finnish extreme power/melodic death metal and are a well-established group by now; time and again they have put out consistently high quality albums which are usually thematically centered on all things swampy. They are back in 2013 with Seventh Swamphony... and let's just say the swamp kings are, without a doubt, in fine form.

Name sounds corny, but the two songs released so far were pretty awesome. I think the planets have aligned for them on this album, lol.

Hope it doesn't come off as unnoticed since it's coming out at the same time as Black Sabbath's and Megadeth's new records.

Last last one suffered from the nastiest production I've ever heard...I know they have an infatuation with swamps, but come on....

I did tryd it and its is 100% Kalmah.... well I am not super fan, but I dont get it, such bands keep silent some years and then come back whit some own style album, why other bands cant keep on original sound?

I stand whit Ukraine and Israel. They have right to defend own citizens.

The amount of solid solos that these guys always manage to chalk up baffles me. That being said, their past couple albums were pretty lacking in other aspects. This one seems to be a pretty solid return to form. Nothing really groundbreaking, but an enjoyable well-rounded melodeath release

Absolutely sick album. Glad they went back to simpler melodies.. the technicality of the playing on 12 Gauge meets Black Waltz-esque catchy leads = greatness.

Much better than 12 gauge where they tried to mix in Slayer to their music which was a failure, I can only think of one solid song on that album.

I liked it, but I think the keyboardist needs a bit more practice. I miss the epic opening keys from songs like "Suodeth" or "The Third, The Magical."

I miss their first keyboardplayer, the mystical, soft and atmospheric keyboards was just epic back then! As for this release, it's okay I guess. Have only listened through it once though, so gotta re-listen. For now, Pikemaster and Windlake Tale is the best songs in my opinion.

I'd say it's not so trendy with the early Bodom, Kalmah, Sonata Arctica etc. keyboards anymore, it's not because the new keyboardist is bad ( I really like them) but the keys should be bigger and massive nowadays and I for one like that
