Maybe it's me getting old but I've never really seen what makes this band so special, the do realy seem like the majority of other BM bands. They seem to be pretty loved though so maybe I'm confusing myself.

I've always thought they are just another darkthrone copy, but i was soo wrong. Since i've heard "carelian satanist madness", i love them. Not original, but its some of the best oldschool black metal beeing released these past years.

Blarg, I must be well past this kind of BM then.

Ive got Carelian Satanic Madness, its a brilliant cd... love how the last track "Blessed be, the grim art" is basically the theme from Conan the Destroyer but grim. This is a wicked band, not just another Darkthrone rip off.

Got one of the albums an it sounded well good. The Burning Eyes Of The Werewolf is a good track!

As with Horna, i love the way Satanic Warmaster blend melody into their raw black metal.

Outstanding band, Satanic Tyrant Werwolf is a great musician, is hard to find BM with this quality from Finland, "The vampyric tyrant" my favourite one...

Almost bought "Of The Night..." the other day but it was the price of a full release so passed on it...

Thats my favourite song too. It isnt fast, but it fits perfectly into the rest of the album. If you want to hear a full album by them, Carelian Satanist Madness is a good place to start.

me too, I had heard soem songs, by them and its secend finish BM band what I discoveerd after Azzagal, and I dont like them so much, thay had better BM bands in Finland

Carelian Satanist Madness is really brilliant. The Vampyric Tyrant and Carelian Satanist Madness being my fav songs.

I havent heard any other album than Carelian Satanist Madness though, any recommendations?

Is this band invovled in the NS movement? Its justa question out of curiosity. But they do seem to have incredibly elitistic views judging by the album names etc.

Satanic Warmaster is devoid of any humour. He does take everything he writes about seriously. There are only a few bands who use (black) humour in the black metal scene and Satanic Warmaster isn't one of them. As you know Satanic Warmaster are very close with Clandestine Blaze and CB is as far from humour removed as can be. Mikko takes himself so seriously that he doesn't want anything to do with people who bring humour into black metal.

Are they anything like Horna? I love Horna's brand of bm and I know what you're talking about there.

I'm looking at buying Satanic Warmaster's 'Of the Night' 10" MLP. They have enticed me for a while.

If you love recent Horna, youll love recent Satanic Warmaster. They have a very similar sound, but not enough to make 1 a clone of the other.

Like Kanwulf and Nargaroth, another stupid one man band, in my opinion. check his myspace to understand why, his pseudo-elitistic attitude is extremely fake and everybody can see that. he is just a stupid patriot, loving Finland and trying to make more victims around the scene. he is making me laugh.

Yeah, that's the track that got me clinched too. It's such a great song!

Satanic Warmaster's stuff is pretty good, listened on and off a fair while back and have recently started getting more into SW. I also couldn't care less whether Satanic Tyrant Werwolf is an asshole or not, doesn't effect the music.
