I decided to make this thread beacuse many good songs isn't in english, and it can be hard to get a translation, so with the help of some metalstormers, perhaps we can understand the lyrics. It doesn't matter what kind of music it is(that's why I put in the general music forum), as long it's not in english.

I posted my request along with the introduction. It wouldn't be good to have it in the first post as it kind of inrelivant to the topic, So I just post it in this way instead, and delete that part in the introduction.

I need some help with a song called "Powódz". Unfortunally I don't know who wrote it, but the man who performed the song was Jacek Dewódzki. If he wrote the song or not, I would like to know that too. If you never heard of the song there is a video on youtube (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=01QBCZo3xNo). If Possible, I would like to know the original lyrics too. I think he sings in polish.

Could anyone translate this for me. The song is ' Finnish Medley ' by Ensiferum. I have no idea of what they sing :

Finnish Medley

[Karjalan kunnailla]

Jo Karjalan kunnailla lehtii puu,
jo Karjalan koivikko tuuhettuu.
Käki kukkuu siellä ja kevät on,
vie sinne mun kaihoni pohjaton.

Mä tunnen vaaras ja vuoristovyös
ja kaskien sauhut ja uinuvat yös
ja synkkäin metsies aarniopuut
ja siintävät salmes ja vuonojes suut.

Siell' usein matkani määrätöin
läpi metsien kulki ja näreikköin.
Minä seisoin vaaroilla paljain päin,
missä Karjalan kauniin eessäin näin.

[Myrskyluodon Maija]

[Metsämiehen laulu]

Terve, metsä, terve, vuori,
Terve, metsän ruhtinas!
Täss' on poikas uljas, nuori;
Esiin käy hän, voimaa täys',
Kuin tuima tunturin tuuli.

Metsän poika tahdon olla,
Sankar' jylhän kuusiston,
Tapiolan vainiolla
Karhun kanssa painii lyön,
Ja maailma unholaan jääköön.

Ihana on täällä rauha,
Urhea on taistelo:
Myrsky käy ja metsä pauhaa,
Tulta iskee pitkäinen
Ja kuusi ryskyen kaatuu.

Metsän poika tahdon olla,
Sankar' jylhän kuusiston,
Tapiolan vainiolla
Karhun kanssa painii lyön,
Ja maailma unholaan jääköön

I'm sorry man, I can't help you.

But I believe this is Sumerian language. At least, this is what I understand from the liner-notes (not the notes from Zos Kia Cultus but from Thelema.6. He speaks about the Sumerian language somewhere in those notes.)

If they really are, I'm afraid only a historian can help you since I believe that language is dead..

Hope the notification you received didn't bring you to high hopes..

Could anyone translate this for me. The song is ' Finnish Medley ' by Ensiferum. I have no idea of what they sing :

I'll try to make a rough and straight translation

Finnish Medley

[Karjalan kunnailla] | On the small hills of Karelia

Jo Karjalan kunnailla lehtii puu, | Already on Karelia's hills a tree is growing leaves
jo Karjalan koivikko tuuhettuu. | Already are the birchwoods of Karelia getting bushy
Käki kukkuu siellä ja kevät on, | Cuckoo cuckoos there and it's Spring
vie sinne mun kaihoni pohjaton. | There I'm taken by my bottomless/endless longing

Mä tunnen vaaras ja vuoristovyös | I know your rocky hills and mountain belts
ja kaskien sauhut ja uinuvat yös | And the smell of casques and your sleeping nights
ja synkkäin metsies aarniopuut | And the primeval trees of your dark forests
ja siintävät salmes ja vuonojes suut. | And your looming straits and the mouths of your fjords

Siell' usein matkani määrätöin | There often is my journey boundless
läpi metsien kulki ja näreikköin. | Through forests and clusters of young spruces (or firs)
Minä seisoin vaaroilla paljain päin, | I stood on rocky hills bare-headed
missä Karjalan kauniin eessäin näin. | Where I saw the beautiful Karelia in front of me

[Myrskyluodon Maija] | Maja from the Stormy Island

[Metsämiehen laulu] | Hunter's Song

Terve, metsä, terve, vuori, | Hello, forest, hello, mountain
Terve, metsän ruhtinas! | Hello, the king of the forest!
Täss' on poikas uljas, nuori; | This is your son noble and young
Esiin käy hän, voimaa täys', | He appears, full of power
Kuin tuima tunturin tuuli. | Like the grim wind of a fell

Metsän poika tahdon olla, | The son of the forest I want to be
Sankar' jylhän kuusiston, | The hero of the rough sprucewood
Tapiolan vainiolla | On Tapiola's fields
Karhun kanssa painii lyön, | I wrestle with a bear
Ja maailma unholaan jääköön. | And the world is forgotten

Ihana on täällä rauha, | Lovely here is the peace
Urhea on taistelo: | Valiant here is the fight
Myrsky käy ja metsä pauhaa, | Storm goes and the forest roars
Tulta iskee pitkäinen | The long one (refers to lightning, I think) hits fire
Ja kuusi ryskyen kaatuu. | And spruce crashes down

Ja maailma unholaan jääköön | And the world is forgotten

I believe, the language used here is Egyptian. It's a text (a chant) found on the Stelle of Revealing, and translated by Aleister Crowley. You can find those verses in "The Book of the Law"
. The translation into English would be:
"Unity uttermost showed!
I adore the might of Thy Breath,
Supreme and terrible God,
Who makest the gods and death
To tremble before Thee:-
I, I adore Thee!"

The language is greek, but, unfortunately, I can't be of any help when it comes to translating it...I know but a few greek words It mentions "Ophios the anciet" ("Ophios" is a greek translitteration of an Egyptian deity Wepwawet ).

Flood

Rinsed of people are the houses
Roots of trees shoot out into sky
Hooked to snapped bridge -
Cadaver of dog with mangled hair
But everything is as should be
Landscape like a table washed
Under red rag of the sky
Mud

In it walks a choir of grim fishers
They drag up stunned fish
Carry baskets of goggled eyes
That disbelieve this is for real
And here everything is as should be
Landscape like a table washed
Under red rag of the sky
Mud

Someone tries to go through this mud
As if mud could be a gate of something
What's this toil for and where's this faith from
Now everywhere it's the same
Now everywhere it's the same
Table washed
Under red rag of the sky
Mud

And above him flying birds
Who speaks, each is a prisoner here
Free flight - who's tired of worms
But who sits down - mires!
Here everywhere is as should be
Landscape like a table washed
Under red rag of the sky
Mud

Winds are blowing, his rock is drying
In the clefts something sprouts
But from earth it won't come forth
Before it grows, another flood will come
It'll wash all into sputter and squelch
Into landscape like a washed blade
And in the meantime under heavy shell
World... world

And apparently it was written by Jacek Kaczmarski

OMNIA SOL TEMPERAT (english translation)

(Spring and faithfulness)

Sun God's purest light
Transforms all beings
The face of April
Let the world recover
To Cupid tend
All senses of men
All beautiful ones bow to
Young God of courtly love

Love me from a true heart
See how I honour you in song
You fulfil again and again
All my senses

Does the world in the scent of spring
Want to renew her sparkle
Thus spring also commands
That we are both joyful
We walk the old paths
Spring on your cheeks
Give me true good advice
To only follow the spring

Destroyed organs, betrayed consciousness, intense discomfort, cultivating terror,
Invading the depths, delighting in torment,
In the emptiness which overruns her, she feels this enemy which gnaws her from the inside,
Devouring her being, her annihilated will,
Null and void, she stands gazing before the mirror,
Bitter reflection of her suffering,
She vomits her constant agony
Birth of anger, decomposed in her flesh,
Bloody abortion, tears the evil from its lair,
She feels death enlarging inside of her which invests her entrails,
Oppressing tumor,
Fed by its anger, the spirit slaughters herself plunging into her entrails,
She buries her hand and taking hold of it,
removes the evil, lethally bound to her,
She collapses, lying down, drowning in her own blood.....

Its an awful translation....but I gave my best....yougot the idea.....it's a disturbing song.....
