@Torelli: I think so although I've never heard it. There are a lot of such songs in Ukrainian culture that's why it is quite difficult to know them all. It may as well be a song of a wandering bard we call them "Kobzars" in Ukraine. Anyway I think it is possible to trace the roots of the song if you need it of course.

Reminds me how an Estonian folk-metal act Raud-Ants performed a song in Votic called "Куи миэ казволин канаины" at the Eurovision of minority languages....

Okay, I have two parts I want translated if possible:

Yeah, it kind of loses it "grimness" when translated, but being a swede, norwegian doesn't sound so grim either.
