Unsurprisingly, it sounds like Metallica covering Rainbow. Why not listen to Rising instead?

As someone said when Metallica did Garage album: "Others invented those songs, but Metallica played them". Same here and by the way, really awesome production. Hope to hear something like this on their new album.

Surprisingly... not bad...

I actually think that this style suits Metallica better than Metallica's style does. Weird...

It would be surprising if it sounded like anything else.

Best thing they've recorded in years. Hopefully they can channel some of this energy and passion into their own new music

This might be ok if not for that production. I swear I've heard pop songs that are less shinily produced than that. No soul whatsoever to some good songs.

I think the order of the medley is a bit odd but other than that I really enjoyed it. As already mentioned, hopefully Metallica can channel some of that energy into their new material.

Not holding my breath though.

Not holding my breath though.

Please don't, the metal community can't keep up with all the dead bodies...

Brutal death metal bands are enjoying the free autopsy opportunities though.

I like the instruments (even if they are a little too polished), the vocals absolutely butchered it for me though..

Yeah, nowhere close to the shine of the original songs but from Metallica this is still the most listenable thing in many many years. The Stargazer-Kill The King part was damn good. Too bad none of this greatness was written by them...
