Are you guys aware of this one? Have you seen the trailer already? This will be the first-ever movie to be entirely experienced in first person view (POV). Here is the trailer:



The film counts with well-known South African actor Sharlto Copley (District 9, Elysium) and the people behind the film are currently seeking support from people in order to collect 250,000 dollars to get this film done (needs the money for special effects and sound editing and stuff). Russian director Ilya Naishuller came up with the idea of making this film after directing a video for his band in first person view and receiving enthusiastic response of the video and encouragement to make a film entirely in this manner. Here is the cool video he made:

I've seen other POV movies. They had boobies too.

I showed this one trailer to my brother-in-law and he said the same thing. This could be a problem for the film even when you have the people behind the film assuring they are doing things to evade this situation.

I don't get dizzy at all though.

Of course this kind of POV is potential. It is creative, it is definitely potential. It's the first time I see long this kind POV movie trailer, very good. Somehow looks like video game but also good acting. I hope it will develop more in the future.

Check out the movie Brat of Russia, 2002, part 2, English title Brother 2, it has a glimpse moment that a guy shoots like that POV, I got impressed and love the movie since that time.

I don't know if POV has been made before, besides porn, but this is first time I see this kind of camera. Cool it's not bad.

Never heard of Brat/Brother so I will check those films out.

Out of my head the film I thought introduced a little segment of POV within a film was the less than stellar Doom film (only part I really liked from that film was the first person view scene actually XD ) but that was 2005 so Brat beats it.

Its all about gimmicks now isnt it? Fuck the good stories and visuals, just find gimmick to sell it. Cinematography is dead, long live the industry!

That's a found footage movie, it doesn't count.

I liked this movie. Went to see it in the theaters and throughly enjoyed it. Actually showed it to my girlfriend the other night and she also had a blast watching. Who wouldn't like mindless fun?

Saw the film and it us truly an abomination. It is way beyond bad.

Gosh, I've really tried to watch this movie a couple of times. Couldn't even go past the opening couple of minutes but I don't think its necessarily a problem with the first person pov, the movie is just flat out uninteresting and looks like a gimmick.
