Amenra - Stream Tool 'Parabol' Cover

Amenra have just released Alive, an acoustic live album, on Consouling Sounds and they performed at Roadburn Festival in Tilburg yesterday, with another performance scheduled for today. On this release is an acoustic cover of Tool's haunting track "Parabol" which can be enjoyed fully here now.

In 2009, Amenra released the beautiful and fragile EP Afterlife. The acoustic tracks that made up this EP showed a very different aspect of the band. The acoustic album kept on lingering in the background, and it was only a matter of time for the band to revisit the acoustic approach of the EP. In 2014, Amenra again showed their most vulnerable side on different stages. This album collects live recordings of old and new acoustic renditions of Amenra tracks, but it also harbors the collaboration with Belgian poet Sofie Verdoodt and two bone chilling covers.

Parabol without Parabola? That wasn't necessary, it sounds really nice and close to the original, which I can appreciate but still, without the followup track it's just incomplete. That's like covering SYL's Velvet Kevorkian without following it up with All Hail The New Flesh.
