Damn, I read in the YouTube comments that "Meaningless" is actually a cover, and it's true! Hear it for yourself: http://redmp3.su/31787657/sign-rockers-don-t-bathe.html

It's kinda weird and now I'm not sure about this record...

What's the problem with that? That band is Ragnar Zolberg's, so it's more like he "imported" the song into PoS's repertory.

Well, I maybe alone in this but after many years of material that did nothing to me, and finally finding something that does and then learning that it was actually written outside the band... I was expecting absolute original material, and hope the rest of the songs are not covers. Sorry if my expectations are a bit high.

Damn this is insane. I loved the Road Salt albums, but this is a fucking heavy album. It's dark and gritty. Definitely more modern prog-metal approach, and I quite like Ragnar's singing. Daniel strong as always.

Perfection!

They have already set very high standards in terms of progressive rock/metal for 2017, which is gooood!

Thanks for this masterpiece POS!

By far the best work of POS, since BE in 2004. What a masterpiece!

Idk what's wrong with me (seeing that almost everybody is liking it) but I think this is pretty bad overall. None of the tracks standout really, only one moment for me (the solo of angels of broken things) and that's it.

I'd recommend Remedy Lane or Perfect Element. This one might give you the wrong idea

Yeah not a good place to start imo. Like LeKiwi said, you should start with Remedy Lane or The Perfect Element.

But why not? Most people are being positive towards this, is there anything different here than their early albums?

Oh wow, I didn't know this was out! I should check it out soon.

Listening to some samples now, looks like they've gone back to a rawer metal sound, though I'm not a big fan of the mixing to be honest. The drums sound kind of strange to my ears.

To me this feels like a more mature take on the style of their first two albums. Really digging it so far, though I'm not yet sure if it is on the same level as something like The Perfect Element I..

Seeing a band rediscovering themselves really warms my heart. A bit less creative than Remedy Lane, buy great stuff nonetheless.

Was never a fan of this band or prog metal in general for that matter. I decided to give this band a second chance with this new release. Sadly this album didn't change my mind. It isn't bad but it just contains all the elements that I don't like about prog metal.

Going to see them in NYC in Feb, can't wait! been a long time part of the tribe since 2000 and they've always been on my wavelength with every release be it scarsick or the salts. oh and btw, Fantastic Album. If anyone has spotify i highly recommend the metal talks with Daniel, it's funny and informative.

Even though the lyrics are super-super-depressive, even though the cover is pretty weird, even though there is some flaw here and there...
I think this album deserves a 9, tons of personality make the songs very very "distinguishable", and I like that Daniel (& Co.) could again do something that sounds different, after all those records.

Usually when bands do that I have exactly the same reaction as you. Strangely enough, though, on this album everything seems so honest and made out of conviction... It's pretty awesome musically and it has some songs that get glued to the ear (like Reasons or Taming of the beast), but its strength is in the out-pour of emotions and its genuineness, it's very moving and intense. I love it and I haven't been so obsessed with an album since Lacrimosa's Hoffnung, and that was ages ago.
