I kind of thought Children of the Night was trending in a Ghost direction, and I hear that even more with this record. Fine by me! Not sure with all the hubbub if Ghost will ever recover, so happy to have a band scratching that particular goth-pop-metal itch.

Great album! I don't think it's better than Children of the Night, though.

Tribulation have really stepped it up with this album. Looking forward to seeing them live with Arch Enemy.

Definitely cheesy, but a very fine cheese

I suspected that they'd take a more gothic turn after hiring Oscar Leander. This is a very catchy version of Fields Of The Nephilim and I can see myself bumping the album up to 9 after a few more listens. For me The Formulas Of Death remains their absolute masterpiece though. One of the best bands that have emerged in this century.

Ah shit this is fucking amazing. Only album from 2018 I've listened to so far and I can already say I'm happy with this year's output lol

Agree with the Ghost vibes, I'm hearing that as well. It is also fine by me.

One of those bands with unbelievable consistency, hopefully, the carry on with the same momentum.
I still haven't deciphered every detail of this album but I what got my attention right away is how flawless they transition between riffs and melodies, a quality they maintained throughout all of the music they've released.

I went back and listened to their previous albums a few days ago before I gave this a whirl, I do like this one and Children Of The Night, but I rather miss the style they had on The Formulas Of Death. I'm not someone who always leans towards more extreme and complex, but I just find that album so much more gripping than either of the two that have followed it with their more simplified, gothic-leaning sound

I'm unsure about how I feel about this for now, however one thing is for sure. When you look at each of there 4 albums at their direction, you can clearly see a diverging evolution that becomes completely obvious.

This album is crazy good!

There were some good songs, but overall it was boring for me.

The 1st 2 tracks knock it out of the park imo, the rest is all good too but those 1st 2 songs WOW me

The takeaway from this album is Subterranea; if the rest of the tracks were as good as that it would be a winner. That being said after 4 or 5 goes I never made it to its conclusion so maybe there's some good ones near the end.

It's not innovative. Not even really catchy. I just find them getting worse from album to album.

I guarantee you that the last songs are the standouts. Here Be Dragons is one of their best songs evah.

I found this enjoyable at first, but one year down the line I don't have much interest in revisiting it. This album just makes me miss their old style & I end up listening to The Formulas Of Death instead.

Nice album overall. Very reminiscent of the last one.
