I'm not entirely sure whether this is a Leprous album or Einar Solberg's first solo record.

Still feels like Leprous, but it takes you on a different journey. And it's great.

The Sky Is Red is apparently 11 minutes - first >10-min song since Contaminate Me, definitely will be interesting to see how they approach that with their current sound

I'm hoping they don't stick to their last sound and do something different!

Kind of lost interest in these guys after the direction they took after Bilateral.

Malina is their best, I really hope they outdo themselves again.

So "Below" is out and oh boy we will need a big bag of popcorn on this.
For me it's an amazing song and guys have proved us again of their creativity, but I see how many pre-Malina fans would hate this. Actually, it's even much different from the Malina.

Apparently, it's going to have a choir and an orchestral approach. They said in an interview that they wanted to close the album with an epic track. I'm interested to see how will it be as well.

I'm a new fan and I admit that Malina didn't stick with me yet compared to Bilateral or Coal for example. I found that it was more of a.. rock/pop oriented formula with a verse-chorus approach, that reminded me of singles from older albums (that I was never a big fan of personally). But I think that I just need to give it more time to grow. Leprous really is a quality band.

In a recent interview, they said that they know how people talk about their style orientation since Malina, and they're sure people will be "talking" about the next album, hopefully, because of a pleasant surprise.

You can already feel the orchestral approach in "Below" and I believe Leprous is talented enough to pull off an amazing album with orchestra and choir.

I feel like Below is way more interesting than From The Flame was, hope the rest of the album follows suit

They've got full on pop aspirations after hearing Alleviate. It's a great vocal performance, but these guys aren't metal anymore.

Before the haterstorm begins my thoughts after first listening:
- It's not metal. Nothing is metal about this, so my advice is just skip it, if you can't accept it.
- At moment I would put this to my top 5 AOTY. Emotional, epic, unexpected, fresh with a top notch songwriting. Every sound, atmosphere, vocal parts is amazing. It's very ambient release, but it manages to create tension and goosebumps at every corner. Definitely a grower and will be in my ears for a long a time.
- The second part of the album - can't even describe what's happening there. A fuckin masterpiece!

An evolution done well.

You're shit out of luck my friend. My wife summed it up perfectly....It's like when we discovered Leprous the first time around and tried to find similar bands - only they weren't very similar and not at all as good.

Malina wasn't good but at least it had Bonneville - The Sky is Red is 11 minutes of my life I probably will never get back.

This is even worse than Malina. A sad day indeed. I mean, progressive "metal" bands are notorious for this kind of thing but Leprous has taken it to a whole other level. What a fucking shame...

5 listens in - my AOTY for sure. I'm a bit sad about the band, they would need to find a new fan base and this masterpiece can sink in all the hatred of narrowminded metalheads.
Nevertheless I really hope they will keep this direction or even if they decide to return to metal sound, Einar will continue this as a solo project, because we really lack this kind of quality music outside Metal scene.

Sometimes bands take their music in a direction where I can't follow (which is why I've recently decided to say goodbye to Dark Moor for example), but luckely this isn't the case (for me) with Leprous. Sure, this new album doesn't contain alot of metal (if any), but I just really love the ambience and especially the vocal sound of Einar! Same as with Malina, little metal, but I just can't get enough of it.
Metal is my first love but I do enjoy listening to some deep dark (melancholic) indie every now and then, that might be a reason why I have no problem with the direction Leprous took their music. Another great album!

Not as bad as "Alleviate" had me anticipate. Pretty good album overall aside from that song. It has some moments that should please fans of the Congregation sound, as well as Malina fans, but overall it's not quite like any other Leprous album. That's fine by me, but I prefer Malina and Coal.

What a shame, I really love this band. This album is boring and definitely not metal, most tracks are better classified as baby making music. That being said, it could make for decent background music

Baby making music doesn't sound like something worse than metal

I find with non-metal albums by metal bands, they're either grossly overrated or underappreciated, but rarely judged with a level head. Curious to check this out just to see why it's causing such a stir.
