This is probably a long shot, but does anyone else on Metal Storm play the ocarina? If not, does anyone simply like this instrument? Most ocarina players from my generation probably first learned of the ocarina thanks to a certain 1998 The Legend of Zelda game. As for the instrument itself, the ocarina is an ancient wind musical instrument - a type of vessel flute. Ocarinas are made of clay or ceramic, but also plastic, wood, metal and even bone. Those last two make the ocarina a perfectly proper instrument for metal IMO

I've been learning the ocarina on-and-off for about a year and a half; however, there have been long months where I haven't picked up the instrument at all, so I am still very much a beginner or maybe in the early stages of being or becoming an intermediate player. I'll leave an example of my ocarina playing here. Just for fun, I thought I'd cover a song from my teenage years (it's a mere coincidence that Marko of Nightwish left the band on this very same day) - "Nemo" by Nightwish. I've long outgrown Nightwish, but I thought this song would make for a nice cover, so here it is. The medieval-ish backing track is also my creation.

This is probably the first and last time anyone covers this song on ocarina. It turned out kind of cheesy, but I had fun recording it. I did NOT have fun trying to mix it so it would sound at least halfway decent.
