OK, so somehow never checked these guys out before. This is excellent stuff with fantastic atmosphere, can definitely see multiple listens in the future.

Yeah it's really good - if you dig this, I would 100% recommend Ausserwelt; gave it a relisten yesterday in preparation for this and it's top-tier heavy post-rock/post-metal

Noted. Definitely happening once I get done with a few more of today's new releases.

They did it. Knew they would. Held off listening to the single. Took it all in today. Amazing song writing and Christ is this heavy. Arguably the best production I've heard on a post metal album.
AOTY contender.

It was pretty boring IMO, had its moments though. Bossk, Amenra and Kauan did better this year, post metal wise.

I found this much more dynamic than Amenra. Haven't listened to Bossk's or Kauan's 2021 efforts yet, but I think this could be pretty accurate, at least within post metal:

I would currently rank them Amenra>YONL>Bossk>Kauan; however, those top two are very close together for me, excellent records the pair of them. As far as post-metal in 2021 goes, Decline Of The I (it's post-/black) and Cult Of Luna (although The Raging River's not had quite the staying power of A Dawn To Fear for me) also need to be in contention - it's a strong category this year (as it was in 2020, some good stuff happening in the genre just at the minute)

It certainly is, sludge too as we discussed before.

Damn good album. Would sound even better with vocals. I also found some funeral doom infused here.
