My Favorite Instrumental Metal Songs

I love instrumentals (songs without vocals)!
One doesn't need words to convey a message and evoke emotions. Instrumentals also show how metal is very closely related to classical music!
These are my favorite instrumental songs. (There are some songs that contain a few spoken words. These I denote with *)
Suggestions are appreciated! Enjoy!

A Nice Guy
Some real good one's here🖒I have listed a few of my personal favourite instrumentals:

(Emperor) Alsvartr - Anthems To The Welkin At Dusk. One of the most epic instrumental intros I've heard.

(Taake) Doedskvad - Hordaland Doedskvad Pt.6. Very Melodic and groovy for this kind of black metal.

(Summoning) Bauglir - Oath Bound. Sets a good atmosphere to begin the album.

(Rush) La Villa Strangiato - Hemispheres. Possibly the best drummer, and bass player in Hard Rock history showing just how talented they are.

Good idea for a list.
And a lot of good songs here. Many of them I wouldnt have come up with from the top of my head I guess.
I have not yet thought about this list for myself.
But what I can say so far is that my favourite instrumental metal song of all time clearly is Death Angel's The Ultra-Violence (title track from the respective album).

Thanks! I'll have to check that song out.
Which songs in the list were unexpected for you?

Thanks for the suggestions! As you can see, I've listened to more Summoning songs - their instrumentals are great. A New Power is Rising was epic with that haunting ring verse and marching drums (and trumpets?)

Well, it was not really specific songs from your list that I did not expect to find here.
It was rather that had you ask me to name some of my favourite instrumental metal songs ever before posting your list I would probably not have come up with that many at all.
The instrumental one is a category of songs that is not particularly present for me in metal generally I guess. My mentioned favourite one being an exception.
If you are up for early thrash of the type of Death Angel or Exodus you should indeed check out that song.
And I should make up my mind about some more of my favourite instrumental metal songs and come back to you here in case I have something more to suggest.

I just listened to it - fantastic! I've added it to my list (along with Metal Church's Merciless Onslaught, Black Sabbath's Orchid, and Testament's Hypnosis)

Thanks! Indeed, Call of Ktulu is a masterpiece! For some reason, I've seen people claim that it's a weak track...
I've lately been keeping an eye out for instrumentals and I was surprised to see them by places I wouldn't expect: Pleasure to Kill, Iron Maiden, So Far So Good So What (I'm especially fond of the latter track - What a unique opening to a Megadeth album!)
