For a land where consumption of the heavier side of metal music is huge, it is a shame the output of the bands of said country and innovation to push metal music forward mostly ranges from bang average to a crushing embarrassment, just like this shower. Germany, a land of heavy metal customers, but even the "cream" of Deutsche metal like kreator (Great), the ocean (meh) , Rammstein (hmmm..), the 1 outstanding necrophagist record (an undeniable gem) - too little from a country so large with a love of the music.

Great country, great people but sadly lacking in an abundance of quality metal . I am aware it's all down to taste, and would love to be proven wrong, so please can I get recommendations of some top notch, innovative German metal? (Not talking destruction, Sodom...I have a few of these, ....the scorpions, and that silly udo character) I am not looking to get bogged down in a slanging match of my country is better than yours etc (we are better than that on metal storm) , just I have a large record collection that I have noticed is sadly lacking in German records.

A simple search here on MS, bands by country and by genre would solve your problem.

I enjoy Tankard so I'm looking forward to a new album.

i recommend running wild, exumer, oomp (similar to rammstien), paradox, early helloween - tho im not sure thats what u lookin for

"The ocean (meh)", wow your bar is set very very high ...

"One foot in the grave" was a bit of a let down from a good run of decent albums. Hopefully they still have one good album left in them, as Tankard are quite entertaining when they are at their best. Hopefully they get back to singing about beer, rather than political or social shit.
