So Canada, what's new?

WHAT?! You're charging foreign bands MORE money to enter Canada? That's Lame. I suppose it's good news for Canadian bands such as Chron Goblin. (Not really, I just needed an opener)

Hailing from the wretched tar sands of Alberta, Chron Goblin are here to make music, good music, at that. The band plays a somewhat unique brand of stoner rock. Their music contains heavy psychedelic influences, which is definitely always a plus. The wah and vibrato filled atmosphere connects very well with the classic rolling riff style of rock and roll that the main body of the music is made up of.

Guitar-wise it's a virtual riff-forest; left and right the listener is pounded by lick after lick. (Air guitar commences in 3..2..1?) The blues based style is not all too new, but it's still fresh enough to digest. Much like a pizza left out overnight. (To be honest, the best pizza is pizza left out overnight, but this is a music review, and I'm not Guy Fieri.)

Another portion of the tunes that I very much love is the bass. Hey, look at that, it's actually audible. Who'da thunk it? The tone is aggressive, much like that playing. The bass lines roll forward and are at times just as aggressive as the guitar. This is always a plus. Drumming and vocals are also fantastic. Both blend perfectly with the bass and guitar. In fact, the whole band sounds perfect together. There are no real weak points, aside from a slight lack of individuality, the music is extremely strong, and well written. This is an album I can listen to at any point, and repeat it many times, without feeling annoyed, or bored.

This is highly recommended. Also, look at that ART WORK!

I would listen to this album just because of that righteous artwork, if the music is as psychedelic as the cover is, it'll be good.
