This is NOTT my cup of tea
Nott is a band coming from Italy, and they play Black Metal, pure semi-raw Black Metal for all of you Blacksters. Is very hard to find decent information of this band in the web, but I managed to find out something about this Ep.
Well, technically is not an Ep because contains, besides the 3 songs, 8 songs more from their 2003 Demo "The Fall Of The Succumbings ", of course, expect "demo quality" on those songs.
But let's focus on the 3 first songs, the rest are mere bonus tracks. The band plays fast paced Black Metal, while the sound is not your typical Tr00 Kvlt raw sound, it contains some raw elements, which in my opinion make the Ep sound horrible, so if you get a chance to listen this, boost those basses on your stereo, or you'll end with your ears soared.
The thing that draws attention from this Ep is the third song "Chapter III - To Annihilation" a song that lasts almost 12 minutes, and that's really lengthy for a Black Metal song, the song alternates between fast and mid paced sections, and it really ends in the 9 minute mark, the rest is just ambient sound with some soundscapes or something like that.
I must say, I'm totally unimpressed with this effort, the three songs didn't showed me something new, and while the visual aspect of the Cd is quite appealing, the audio aspect is way too poor for my tastes.
Only recommended for die-hard fans of Black Metal.
